Camps

Junior Pony club camp will be held at Littles farm, Shalford on Monday 5th August to the 7th August 2019. The camp will be held over 3 days starting around 9am until 4pm every day. You will be expected to attend for all 3 days.

The camp is open to all junior members even our little ones on lead rein. Upper age would be advised as Year 6 children. Your child will be placed in an appropriate ride depending on ability and age.

They will have the same instructor for all 3 days. On the final afternoon Pony Club Tests will be taken.

Camp will involve many activities including instruction in Dressage, show jumping, x country, mounted games, stable management and new this year Tetrathlon.

There will be an opportunity to swim at the end of the day (strictly open to camp members only) and a presentation with prizes and rosettes at the end of the 3rd day.

The junior members will ride in the morning with a break for drinks and snack that we will provide and ride again after lunch. At lunch time the ponies are given a well earned rest and everyone brings a picnic and sits together on the grass.

Camp is a great fun experience for all the children, ponies and parents. The children make lots of friends and their riding and confidence improves no end.

We ask that your children have an appropriate person with them (16 or over) for all 3 days and are suitably mounted on the same pony for all days.

So if you think you would like to join us in August and have some fun with your pony, please fill in the application form.

When we have received your form and payment of £100 an information pack will be sent out to you explaining exactly what you will need to do and bring to camp.

There will be a working party to get camp ready on Sunday 4th August so please keep this afternoon free to help.

Camp will be available for booking on webcollect from 1st February. Any queries please contact Clare 07810 334246

**Please note once bookings are made no refund will be given without a vet or doctors certificate upto two weeks before camp. No refund will be given 14 days before camp starts**

Intermediate Camp is 28th July to 2nd August

Intermediate Camp is open to all members who are 11 by 31st August 2017 and up to and including any members aged 15.  No members who are aged 16 at the time of camp are allowed due to safeguarding rules and regulations.

For the new members you might want to know a bit more. This week-long residential camp for 10-15 year olds (parents can visit every day between 5-7pm) is something your children will remember forever – they make lifelong friends, learn a lot and have great fun. All children sleep in horse lorries or tents and the ponies in pop up stables. If you don’t know who to share with let us know and we can help. The ponies are really well looked after under the watchful eyes of camp instructors and stable girls / boys and your children are fed hot meals three times a day (food intolerances can be catered for) and watered regularly in the dining barn. Posh loos and a daily swim in the pool ensure hygiene standards are kept. Children are put in groups with an instructor for the week according to ability and get 5* training in all disciplines from dressage to show jumping to XC on the course at Littles. At the end of the week the children ride a quadrille to music for the parents to watch before the big clear up begins. There are a few photos from past camps on the Facebook page. The emphasis is for your child to learn to look after their horse to an excellent standard, they will improve their riding and learn essential equestrian skills. Most importantly they will return exhausted and happy.

We have to be mindful of child welfare and other issues that technology brings and as such we must STRICTLY forbid children or parents from posting any information on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram regarding camp.  It is very easy, these days, for outsiders to use this information to identify the location of not only all the children but their tack and for obvious reasons we do not want to advertise this – when camp has finished and all items of value (including children) have been packed away – then feel free to advertise what a wonderful time was had by all.
