Our Branch

The EAST KENT HUNT PONY CLUB  was started in 1933 and, as suggested in the name, has always had strong links with the East Kent Hunt and is part of Area 11.

Within our branch we aim to encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding to give instruction in riding and horsemanship and to educate all of our Members to look after and to take proper care of their animal to promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self-discipline.

We cater for all ages from lead rein to our Associates, creating a strong EAST KENT team spirit, and focus on having fun as well as competing and riding. We are immensely proud of the achievements of all our members from local shows, PC Championships through to National Shows, with some now on National Squads and competing at very high levels in various disciplines.

Upon joining the pony club please note that you will need to be a fully paid up member before you can attend any rallies. Our website gives easy access to all our events, rallies, disciplines and we also have a facebook page.We look forward to welcoming you to our branch.

In the early days the instructors were all ex-military men and from small beginnings, the club grew to a membership of over 200 in the early 1990s. Our club has stabilized to a membership base of between 160 and 170 across all age ranges.
