National Champs 2026
The first day of the PC Championships saw some highs and some lows.
The 90 team of Alice Cranfield, Imogen Lane, Fee Haig and Charlotte Brown; in round 1 Alice had a lovely clear, Imogen also had a clear but incurred time faults, Charlotte and Fee had a couple of poles. Round 2 was in a different ring with some tricky combinations, brightly coloured fences and lots of distractions resulting in a pole for Charlotte and a couple for Fee but they should be commended on their rounds. Sadly Alice ran out of steam and Immy had a disaster.
The 100 Individual was Eve Marson who rode a lovely round in R1 with a pole at the last and after the first fence another lovely round in R2.
Eleanor Cox in the Novice Dressage completed a very nice test, finishing 11th in her section.
Well done to all the competitors and thank you to Meg for warming up Eleanor and Debbie for warming up the show jumpers. As always many thanks to the parents.
Day 2 of the Champs.
Intermediate Dressage: a very tight section, 66-68% of the marks went to places between 5th and 28th and this is where Eve Marson ended up on both Britannia Royal and Up For a Party.
The 100 Show Jumping team of Imogen Lane, Alice Cranfield and Eve Marson. In R1 Imogen had a pole, Alice had 3 and Eve had a moment in the middle of the course but completed it. R2 Imogen came unstuck at fence 3 but Alice and Eve completed the course with faults but showed some determined riding.
The Elite Show Jumping was interesting with Eve riding a very excited Britannia Royal who had a few poles.
Day 3 was Open Dressage and 110 Show Jumping.
Eve rode a lovely, accurate test on Britannia Royal finishing 8th in the section, and later this morning she rode another lovely, accurate test on Up For a Party in another section coming 9th. Eve was part of an Area 8 Blue team coming 5th.
Britannia Royal was not at his best in the Show Jumping, but Eve was part of an Area 8 Kimblewicks team which came 2nd.
Well done Eve, some determined riding. Thanks to Janey and as always Debbie.
Day 4 of PC Championships
A quieter day! Eva Cranfield did a very nice test in the 90 Eventing followed by a clear round in the show jumping. She has her cross country tomorrow morning.
In the Chairman’s Cup, Thomas completed his first dressage test in a 60 x 20 arena followed much later in the day with a clear round on the cross country incurring a few time faults and moved up into 27th. Tomorrow he has his show jumping phase.
Many thanks to Debbie for all her hard work and words of wisdom over the last four days.
Last day of the Champs today.
Thomas completed the final phase of the Chairman’s Cup. Springfield Sapphire was very excited but managed to jump round with only 2 poles; well done Thomas finishing 27th.
It wasn’t Eva’s day in the 90 cross country.
Many thanks to Sarah and Amy.
