Hi Everyone

As you know this year is the Pony Club’s 90th Birthday and Area 11 are proposing  to holding the Human 90 in the main arena at Hickstead on Saturday 3rd August when SDHW are doing the Inter branch team show jumping competition.   We need as many members to take part in this exciting event , you don’t have to be jumping on the day to do the Human 90, entry to Hickstead is free and its a good opportunity to have a celebration picnic with your friends as well.  We are looking for about 10-25 members or more from the branch in their pony club uniform to be at the main funnel of the international arena at 12.00.   The show will be stopped for 1hr whilst the Human 90 is preformed and photographed etc.

If you would like to attend please can you let me know by the end of the week.

Many thanks

Final call for senior camp, if you would like to come and haven’t let me have your forms yet please do so before 26th July 2019 when the camp entries will close.

There are some addition points/vaccination info etc that are now on the senior tab.

Calling all members wanting to do their D+ test
I have noticed that we have lots of members eligible for their D+ test. Normally at this time of year we just run one at junior camp however there are too many of you for one test
Therefore I am going to do a test on the 24th July at Montague, 5-7pm, £10 each. Please let me know ASAP if you would like to book in.
I have tagged several of you that are eligible but please ensure that you are at the standard required before booking in and that you have checked the test card.

Looking for a day out with all the family to kick off your summer sporting calendar? We have just the ticket!

Family Raceday at Goodwood Racecourse
Sunday 9th June
Exclusive ticket offer for Pony Club families
Under 18s race FREE!

Great news! QIPCO British Champions Series are bringing their Fan Zone to Goodwood Racecourse for the first time. This is a chance for Members of The Pony Club to learn more about the exciting sport of horseracing, earn their ‘Intro to Pony Racing’ badge and ‘Horseracing Certificate’, and enjoy a fun afternoon out with friends from The Pony Club and beyond.

Furthermore, you will be able to learn all about the ways that you can get involved in horseracing in the future.

  • Get up close and personal with an ex-racehorse and learn what sets the Thoroughbred apart from other breeds
  • Go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the racecourse
  • Go to ‘Jockey School’ – pick your silks, hop on an equicizer and learn to race ride with a real-life jockey coach.
  • Explore all the kit used by jockeys on a raceday
  • Design Your Own Racing Silks competition

As this is a Family Raceday, there will also be a traditional carousel, helter skelter, balloon modeller and bubble artist at Goodwood.

When the racing begins, the racecourse will also be offering trips to the start to watch the runners and riders burst from the stalls in a blur of colour and beating hooves – it’s truly an unforgettable sight.

And last but not least, not forgetting the racing action out on the track! Hear the thunder of hooves approaching the final furlong and check your specially designed kids racecard to check if you picked the winner.
