EHNPC Show Jumping Show

Tuesday 24th October 2017

Brook Farm TC

Essex Hunt North had another great day at Brook Farm for their Annual Show Jumping Show held in half term. There were lots of our own members who attended as well as many from other branches of the Pony Club.
The day started with a x pole class with some super rounds and with most making it through to the jump off, but Megan Callow won the class with a speedy jump off for top spot.
The 50cm class came next with Daisy Burgess EHNPC taking the win on her lovely pony Cosford Vandal. A special mention and well done must go to Yegor Vyshnevskyy from the Essex Union PC for coming 3rd at his first ever show!
Class 3 was the 60cms class with a brilliant 10 double clears and Darcy Wright from the Enfield Chace coming first. Next came the 70cms class with over 20 in the class and half going clear, but Essex Hunt North PC member Sophie Bell had a brilliant round to win overall.
The Debut 80cms class came next with the top four places to qualify for the next round. There was stiff competition and twenty riders made it through to the jump off. Well done to EHNPC member Freya Samuel-Smith for winning the class and two other EHNPC members for taking the next three quialifying places with Imogen Pohl taking 2nd and 4th with her two rides and Charlie Heapy qualifying in 3rd place.
Class 6 was also a Dengie qualifier and was again a hotly contended class. Geoff Quinlan built some testing courses but we still had several who made it to the jump off. Well done to Talia Da’Prato from the Enfield Chace PC for winning and qualifying for the second round with EHNPC members also qualifying – Jack Nicklin 2nd, Honor Gordon 3rd and Beau Damps 4th.
The final class of the day was the 1m class with few going clear. Well done to Beau Damps for being the fastest clear to win!
A big thank you must go to all the helpers on the day who made the day run so smoothly. Caroline Kenney pole picked the whole day, DC Di was a very able secretary, Roy & Mary Dale in the judges box, Geoff Quinlan course building, Charlotte Pegrum and her friend Amy from the Suffolk Hunt PC on the gate, Richard Pohl aptly named to pole pick and to Kay Percival and Emma Rowbotham for their help also.
