Area and Regional Dressage Qualifiers 2024
On the 20th and 21st July we were pleased to put forward several teams and individuals forward to compete at the Area 8 Team and Individual Dressage Qualifiers for the JCB Pony Club 2024 National Championships (Novice, Intermediate and Open) and for the Pony Club 2024 Regional Dressage Championships (PC70 and PC80), hosted by the Suffolk Hunt Branch of the Pony Club hosted at Ickworth Park, Bury St Edmunds and what a fantastic day we all had!
The 70 Grassroots team of Antonia Gorbtiz, Poppy Anley and Jemima Rutland competed as a team of 3 meaning all 3 scores counted and they did brilliantly to get a podium finish of 2nd place and qualified for the Regional Championships. Antonia and Maverick did a lovely test winning her arena, Jemima came 2nd in her arena and Poppy finished a creditable 5th in her arena.
Our 80 Grassroots team again with only 3 members for all 3 scores to count were Annabel Bardrick, Ameila Anley and Grace Hotham. 3 lovely tests in bright sunshine and lots of flies the team finished 6th and also qualifying them for the Grassroots Championships with Grace getting an individual placing in her arena of 6th.
We had two Essex and Suffolk Members entered in the Novice Qualifier, Sophie Feeney and Isobel Hinde and they were both put into a Mixed Area Team. Sophie and Isobel gained individual placings in their arenas, helping their Mixed Team obtain a podium finish of 2nd securing their place at the National Championships.
Molly Nichols represented the Branch at both Intermediate and Open Level, with fantastic results in both. In the intermediate Molly was put into a mixed team which came 5th, individually 4th securing her place at the Nationals.
In the hotly contested Open qualifier she produced a beautiful test in front of the trade stands which was so lovely to watch for everyone, finishing 2nd individually and 3rd in a Mixed Team qualifying for the National Championships.
