Area and Regional Showjumping Qualifiers 2025

On Saturday we had one individual Emilia Ward with the lovely Mikey and one team, the Essex and Suffolk Red Team consisting of Harry Tier, Ella Aldous, Ben Nichols and Annabelle Pallister – a couple of first round clears for Harry and Annabelle with an unlucky pole for Ben and Ella. The second round proved more challenging but Harry jumped another lovely clear and which qualified him individually for the Grass Roots Championships. Ben also secured a qualifying place, we wish them all the best at the Regional Championships in Aston in August.

On Sunday we had two Essex and Suffolk Area Teams competing: the Essex and Suffolk Green team with Emilia Rivett, Hallie Milton, Harry Tier and Ben Nichols and the Essex and Suffolk Blue Team with Isobel Hinde, Ottoline Goldklang, Sophie Feeney and Isabella Rivett. There were some lovely rounds taking both teams through to round two on a team score of zero, unfortunately the weather changed for both teams second rounds with a sudden downpour making conditions very challenging and an unlucky pole for a few resulted in a Essex and Suffolk Green team 6th closely followed by Essex and Suffolk Blue 7th.

For the Intermediate and Open we had Molly Nicholls representing Essex and Suffolk who jumped a lovely clear first round but an unlucky pole in the second round in the Intermediate and a couple of poles in the Open round left Molly out of the placings.

Great comradery all round under unpleasant weather conditions, hopefully you’ve all dried out!!!! Not many photos due to the weather but thanks to Tess for the pics of Isobel and Freya jumping their round in torrential rain!
