Blenheim Eventers Challenge 2024

This year we were oversubscribed in interest for our Eventer Blenheim Challenge resulting in a team selection day, with teams chosen on Thursday Mary and I travelled down to support our 90 team and our one 100cm team member competing at Blenheim Palace in the Eventer Challenge on Friday.

Our selected 90 team consisted of Isabella Rivett, Emilia Rivett, Harry Teir and Matthew Caley. With over 40 teams we were fortunately riding later in the day. Isabella started us off well over a twisty track on undulating ground. Emilia was due to ride second unfortunately her horse pulled a shoe in the warmup although farrier quickly on-site. Harry came in next, a lovely round especially speedy in the XC section. Matthew completed the round nicely with a few penalties. After swiftly having the shoe put back on Emilia rode a beautiful round on a young horse. No team placings for our 90 team on this occasion.

We had Molly Nichols representing Essex and Suffolk in the 100 Eventer Challenge and this year they allowed Mixed Teams last minute which enabled Molly to join the Newmarket and Thurlow mixed team. Molly rode a lovely round to help secure the team a podium finish of 2nd.

Although not everyone’s journey home was quick we would like to say a big thank you to parents for bringing the children and a thank you to all her representing the branch.
