Winter Triathlon Series Round up and Tet News

The ever busy tetrathletes have had a busy winter of Triathlons.  Each Area runs a Qualfier for the Winter Tri Champs and we have had a number of members earning a place at the National Finals.

Tallulah, Sonny, Harmony and Annie enjoyed a lengthy trip to Area 13 South Berkshire meeting some competitive Juniors, Minis and Tadpoles.  This was Tallulahs first mixed Tadpole class, shooting for the first time.  Tallualah 15^th, Sonny (competing in higher class) 4^th, Harmony 12^th and Annie 11^th.

Emilia, Tatiana and Grace took a trip south to the Area 11 Kent competition.  Tatiana won (and qualified) the Minimus class with a Best Swim and Best Run, Grace won (and qualified) the Junior Girls with a Best Run and Emilia came 6^th.

Annie moved north to Area 6 and came 3^rd earning herself a qualification place at Champs.

Area 8 qualifier was well supported by E&S members.  Tallulah (Tadpole Girls) came 3^rd,  Charlie (Tadpole Boys) came 10^th, Sonny stormed the Minimus Boys with a Best Swim to take 2^nd (and qualified), Harmony came 7^th in the Minimus Girls with Tatiana winning Best Shoot and placed 2^nd.  The Mini Team came 2^nd overall.  Junior Girls Team were beaten by the Junior Boys team into 3^rd place, made up with Grace 3^rd, Emilia 9^th, Annie 10^th and Georgina 17^th Best Shoot.  Junior Boys Team placed 3^rd with Matthew 6^th, Harry 5^th (and qualified) and Alfie won with Best Swim.  Finally, the Open class.  The girls saw Tilly 7^th, Issy 6^th and the boys saw Oscar 4^th and Fergus 3^rd winning Best Shoot.  The Open Team came 2^nd!

The National Finals took place at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre on Sunday 24^th March.  Many of the E&S members were selected for Area 8 Teams, competing against Areas from all over the UK.  Open Boys – Fergus 18^th; Junior Boys – Alfie 11^th, Harry 36^th; Junior Girls – Grace 27^th, Annie 43^rd; Mini Boys – Sonny 18^th, Mini Girls – Tatiana 20^th.  Area 8 Open Team placed 2^nd, Junior (Alfie, Harry and Grace) placed 12^th and the Mini Teams placed 20^th (Tati) and 21^st (Sonny).  Well done to all the members who have worked so hard over the winter, culminating in these excellent results at the National Finals,

Through the Easter holidays, there are some competitions for all members if you would like to get involved. Newmarket and Thurlow host their Tri phases on Saturday 6^th April and the Ride phase (along with their Hunter Trial) at Horseheath on Sunday 7^th April.  Entries close on 25/3/24.  For the younger members, the Ride (45cm or 60cm) is over rustic fences in a roped arena.  Please see www.horse-events.co.uk for the schedule.

Easton Harriers host their Tri phases at Framlingham College on Thursday 11^th April, with their Ride phase incorporated with their Hunter Trial on Sunday 14^th April. Entries close 6/4/24.  The Beanies and Tadpole Classes ride will be in the all weather arena – there will be a clear round at both heights (excluding the slip rail) before the Ride classes so the children can become accustomed to the courses.  Schedule can be found at www.horse-events.co.uk
