The history of the Essex Union Hunt branch of the Pony Club is rich. Founded in 1930, it holds the distinction of being one of the original 13 branches of the Pony Club, marking its place as a pioneer in the equestrian community. Since its inception, the Essex Union Hunt branch has played a pivotal role in shaping the Pony Club’s ethos and contributing to its enduring legacy.
In 1932, the branch made a significant mark on Pony Club history by participating in a competition to design the official Pony Club tie. Alongside the Essex Hunt Branch, their entry stood out among the rest, earning them the honour of creating the tie that continues to symbolize the Pony Club members to this day.
