Royal Welsh Show – Welsh Government’s Schools Consultation – Impact on the Show<\/h4>\n

Help us ensure the future of the Royal Welsh Show by responding to Welsh Government\u2019s Schools consultation><\/b><\/p>\n

All Welsh schools could be open during the week of the Royal Welsh Show from 2026 if a Welsh Government consultation on changes to the school year gets the green light. This will have a major impact on the show, as set out in our letter attached.<\/p>\n

We would be grateful if you could respond to the consultation to urge the government to reconsider its plans.\u00a0 Please can you also ask your members to respond individually to the consultation as it will have an impact on the Pony Club Mounted Games competitions held during the Show in the future.<\/p>\n

We have stressed the point to government that we do not want to be forced to change the dates of the Royal Welsh because of the impact it will have on other major cultural events, such as the National Eisteddfod, and other agricultural shows across Wales.<\/p>\n

The closing date of the consultation is the 12\u00a0February 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n
