{"id":1499,"date":"2024-03-27T20:49:58","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T20:49:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/flintdenbigh\/?post_type=news&#038;p=1499"},"modified":"2024-07-17T19:00:29","modified_gmt":"2024-07-17T18:00:29","slug":"flint-and-denbigh-branch-at-the-triathlon-championships","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/flintdenbigh\/news\/flint-and-denbigh-branch-at-the-triathlon-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"FnD &#8211; Triathlon Champs"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\r\n<section class=\"full-width-text py-5\">\r\n    <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"col-lg-10 mx-auto\">\r\n                <p>Five superfit Flint and Denbigh Members had qualified to compete at the Champs held in Grantham on March 24<sup>th<\/sup> and very good time was had by all.\u00a0 The five were;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Harriet Goodall,<\/li>\n<li>Leah Lamb,<\/li>\n<li>Olivia Bexon (Seniors),<\/li>\n<li>Orla Kissane (Junior) and<\/li>\n<li>Casper Kissane (Mini Boys).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We travelled there on the Saturday evening and stayed in a B&amp;B \u2013 (all 10 of us in one room was a bit much) \u2013 quite near the venue.<\/p>\n<p>Members were all competing as individuals but some had been selected to be in Area 5 teams. There were Senior, Junior and Mini teams from all Pony Club Areas including Ireland so competitors\u00a0 were the cream of the country and had all qualified to get there.<\/p>\n<p>The 3 FnD Senior girls, in a class of 46, had mixed fortunes. They were beaten by just 49 points (9209\u00a0 and 9258) which shows just how important every metre\/sec counts. Individually, Orla came <strong>7th out of 54<\/strong> Junior girls.\u00a0 <em>Just amazing!<\/em>\u00a0 She had the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> best run in a time of 5min 7secs for 1500 m. The fastest was 4min 56 secs.<\/p>\n<p>Casper Kissane in the Mini boys did remarkably well \u2013 he had the <strong>fastest run<\/strong> of the Class of 45 boys &#8211;\u00a0 1000m in just 3min 13 secs. <em>Amazing!<\/em>\u00a0 His swim was well up with the best too but his shoot let him down.\u00a0 I think he forgot to keep one eye open !<\/p>\n<p>Well done FnD\u2019s \u2013 you were all brilliant.<\/p>\n<p>This event in the Tetrathlon calendar always has a wonderful atmosphere and the members (and parents) have a great time.\u00a0 It is certainly a competition to aim for.<\/p>\n                                                                <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-secondary understrap-read-more-link\" href=\"https:\/\/branches.pcuk.org\/flintdenbigh\/news\/flint-and-denbigh-branch-at-the-triathlon-championships\/\">Read More&#8230;<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> from FnD &#8211;
