Pontispool Rules

Stables

Anyone requiring bedding other than straw will be responsible for their own supply (NO paper bedding please).  Should a stable allocated by the camp organiser as shavings or similar, contain straw, the camp will be responsible for removing the straw to another stable or the main straw storage area.  At the end of the stay, you will also be required to remove the shavings from the stable, either bagging them up to take away with you or disposing of them on the muck trailer.

Please note that if stables are left in an unsatisfactory condition and require Pontispool staff to muck them out, £15 per stable will be deducted from your cautionary deposit.

Dogs

Pontispool has a policy that they prefer that no dogs are brought on camp, however, there are circumstances when people sometimes have to bring them.  However, they do ask that the individuals concerned contact them direct to gain permission and to agree to their rules prior to coming on site.

Gallops

The use of the gallop is NOT included for residential camps.  No-one is permitted to use it unless booked and paid for separately. We would prefer those attending not do this as horses have a busy too days – it is not a good idea to start with a tired horse or or use gallops with tried horse after camp.

Tetrathlon

Shoot (or beanbag throwing for under 8s); swimming; running and riding. See here for more information

The Four Burrow Pony Club have always been enthusiastic about Tetrathlon. Since the sport was started in the 1950s we have run our own annual competition and training. We have had several members  placed at national competitions; competing in UK teams in America and Australia; competing in Regional teams throughout the country and Ireland – and in 1995 achieved an unique double with a girl and boy winning both the top classes at the National Tetrathlon Championships.

Currently we have a number of enthusiastic and talented members aged 7 to 23 having fun and success competing at Triathlons (without the riding) and Tetrathlons in Cornwall, Devon and beyond. For list of  competitions click Here

We have our own guns and equipment so anyone can join in. Training for shooting takes place on Mondays at Woodland Valley Farm near Ladock. Times by arrangement. Please contact Janet Jones

Swimming training has been taking place on Sunday evenings. Contact Cath Ashenden or Jo Walkers for more information.

Our own competition will be on Saturday and Sunday 14 and 15 September. The triathlon phases will be at Carn Brea leisure centre on the Saturday and the ride at Trebuddenon on Sunday. Competitors can compete in just the Triathlon or do the whole Tetrathlon.
