National Pony Club Championships- 14th August 2025
Our second update on the champs- written by Sophie Jinks.
Week 2 update so far!
Tuesday kicked off week 2 of Pony Club Championships.
The day started by Arabella competing in the 100 individual final. A few faults in round one meant she didn’t progress to the jump off, but she jumped a cracking clear in the second round ready for the team competition the following day.
Milly was competing in the Novice dressage final, and after a quick learn of a new test produced a great test for 66.20% to finish 15th in her section.
It was then the turn of the novice showjumping team made up of Rosie, Milly and myself. We started with a clear, four faults and eight faults from round one, followed by some more poles falling in round two so unfortunately out of the placings!
Wednesday was the turn of the 100 team. Arabella produced a strong double clear, with the remaining three members all having an unlucky pole in round one. Jacky jumped clear in round 2 meaning we only added four faults from Millys second round to sit on a score of 12 after this.
All of the teams from 7th-13th sat on a score of 12 faults and it was then decided on second round times. We finished 13th out of 50 teams so just outside the placings sadly!
I also competed in the Novice individual that day and after a miscommunication at number one jumped a double clear!
Thursday and we are onto the final showjumping day and beginning of the eventing!
Arabella jumped a mega double clear on the 110cm to then jump off for individual placings. An unlucky pole in the jump off saw her finish 5th/80 + starters which is amazing.
Sophie H began her eventing campaign in the Chairman’s cup where she passed the trot up and currently sits as overnight leader of the dressage with a few more left to do tests tomorrow.
We will be out on the cross country course tomorrow cheering her on!
Jacky, Tabby & myself start out eventing competitions tomorrow with dressage and showjumping

The pony club also hosted a CPD afternoon to walk the cross country course with Sarah Verney who is the eventing pathway manager who was able to provide insight into the way cross country is taught across the levels and provided a wealth of knowledge!
