Terrific Triathlon! July 2023

The start of July sees our Tet and Tri Team head off to Area Qualifiers.   πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ”« πŸŠπŸ»β€β™€οΈ
Everyone of this team gave their all in all three disciplines and all came home with a certificate (some more than one).
In the beanies section – Heidi, Henry and Jude made our first Grove Team and they smashed the run and shoot phases. These three occupied three of the top four run spots, followed by a strong shoot and then in the swim Heidi was a mermaid. We came home with a πŸ₯ˆfor Jude, a fourth for Henry, the fastest run for Jude and overall as a team they stormed in at second place and they were only 8 points (out of 3000) off the top spot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

In the tadpoles section – Edmund and Beatrice joined mixed teams, Beatrice improved in all three disciplines with PBs across the board, Edmund stormed his run (being chased by his sister increasing his running speed) for a brilliant PB and improved his shoot score too ⭐️⭐️

In the minis section, Jessica matched her shoot score and absolutely blasted her run and swim for PBs – with one of the male competitors hot on her heels she pulled out the best sprint she’s ever done, Jessica joined a combined team and placed 4th ⭐️

Olivia and Toby were part of the Juniors section, Olivia improving her shoot score and absolutely blasting her swim – so close to getting 6 lengths and Toby improved his swim, was consistent in his run and significantly improved his shoot score. Olivia joined a mixed team and placed 3rd and Toby’s mixed team also placed 3rd ⭐️⭐️

Finally our long standing Tetter Freya Church in the intermediate section was placed third with a fab swim. Freya is our only member competing in the full Tetrathlon and goes forward into the Area 6 qualifier at Aylesford.

Mega Area 6 Mounted Games May 2023

After only a year of getting our mounted games teams back on it, Grove had a fabulous day out at the Area 6 competition hosted by South Notts last weekend.
It started with the nerve racking tack and turn out which ended with super results for Grove πŸ’œ, our older seniors of Lexi, Olivia, Lilly and Kyle came 2nd , with our new seniors – Evie, Francesca, Selina, Imogen & Kierra, taking the win ! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» no mean feat with all those greys πŸ‘Œ

The team competition followed with our older senior team coming 3rd place (hoping for that wildcard) & our new seniors doing equally amazing as stepping up to senior games this year and pulling out a 5th place 🀩🀩

The pairs competition continued into the afternoon having everyone on the edge of their seats ,
Lexi and Olivia were taking the win right up until the last couple of games …
It was then neck and neck in a race off between Lexi, Olivia , Kyle and Lilly and two other pairs.  The end result being 4th place for Kyle and Lily and 6th for Lexi and Olivia (again fingers crossed for a wildcard!!)

And 9th place for Imogen and Kierra – who rode like stars !!
All in all It was a fantastic day of fun, friendship & competition.
Grove have made a huge comeback to games, and are getting stronger and stronger πŸ’ͺ🏻 with huge thanks to our games coach Charlotte Heath Smith, our Games coordinator Claire & all the games parents.
