We are putting on more for older / teenage members in 2024 – especially if you’d like to represent us off-island! You can
Qualify to represent Guernsey in Pony Club Regional and National Competitions
Take part in the newly revived Pony Club Interinsular
Take your Pony Club Tests up to the C+ test – which allows you direct entry to the BHS Stage 2 exam
Plus all our normal activities including rallies with visiting and local instructors, competitions, gymkhanas, Camp, and social rides!
Qualifying for the Regional and National Dressage Competitions
You can do this individually or part of a Guernsey team
Open to any member. If you have BD points from Novice to Medium, check with us as you have to enter specific sections.
Tests are divided into rider age and difficulty levels, and can be downloaded here.
Qualify through our local competition hosted by the Guernsey Dressage Group on 21st April, and by taking part in at least 2 out of our Feb and March Dressage Competitions, and our Feb rally with Jo Graham.
The Regionals are at Bicton in August, and the Nationals are in August. Final dates tbc.
From the Nationals, you can qualify for the 2025 Home International at the Royal Windsor Horse Show
We can help you to apply for a travel subsidy
Qualifying for the Regional and National Showjumping Competitions
Much more on this to follow as while Pony Club HQ have put their support in place, we need to iron out details locally.
Can be individual or team, with heights starting at 0.70m. Regional and National competition dates are the same as the Dressage.
We can help you to apply for a travel subsidy.
Pony Club Tests
The Theory section is taught through a combination of weekly zoom sessions, and some face to face
We can do Pony Club Tests up to the C+ locally, including the Road Rider Achievement Badge / BHS Ride Safe Test
Taking the C and C+ tests allows you to skip the first BHS test if you are thinking of a profession in the horse world!
Plus all our normal activities
We are based at the BS Guernsey grounds on Chemin le Roi
We have 9 working rallies planned for 2024 – opportunities where you can have lessons with a variety of fab visiting and local instructors (in 2023 this included Georgia Renouf, Jo Graham, Terry Lihou, Lisa Torode, and Laura Miller). We always try to put on extra rallies with visiting instructors.
We also have competitions, our annual show, Camp, and gymkhanas in the calendar.
We cater for all riders from Lead Rein to the more seriously competitive, up to age 25
A trip to the 2024 London International Horse Show
