As well as the ever-popular Jilly Bull rallies, our younger members of the Club have also attended dressage rallies with Sam McEwan and jumping rallies with Elly Wishart. Unless the website says there is a lower age limit or a jumping height limit most of our rallies are open to all. Our juniors are benefiting from these discipline specific rallies and we hope to see more of you booking into them.

We held a fun Halloween rally at Braishfield at the end of October and a fantastic Hairy Pony Party just before Christmas. Due to its popularity we had three full rides and Santa and his merry helpers came to visit as usual. Everyone pulls together at Christmas and makes this rally very special. Not only do the members enjoy it but the parents and committee do too.

We have a progressive series of three rallies coming up shortly with Eve Blachford. These are perfect working rallies for members of all ages, and having three in a row really does make a huge difference. You don’t have to enter all three but it’s much more beneficial if you do.

Unfortunately, our latest Jilly rally had to be cancelled due to EHV.  Although this was disappointing for you all, it has been a necessary precaution. However, I hope all minis have been able to get some riding in, despite the weather and the virus.

We have recently had lots of new junior members, we hope you are enjoying the rallies and look forward to seeing you all soon.

If any parents of any mini or junior members have any questions whatsoever please do not hesitate to contact us.

This year’s Area 14 Horse & Pony Care Competition is being held on 16th April at Tidworth, and is being organised by the RA. The schedule hasn’t been sent out yet but if anyone wants to join a team please get in touch. Our members who took part in this last year really enjoyed it and learnt lots during their training sessions.

Tedworth Saddle Club have recently started a Pony Club Centre and will be hosting a competition on 20th February. This isn’t the official Area 14 competition but more of a fun one. The schedule has just come out and is on our Facebook page. Being so close it would be great if we could field a team or two for this too. It’s split into Minis (10 years and under) and Juniors (under 15), with the minis being asked questioned up to D+ standard and the Juniors up to C+ standard.

Topics may include some of the following:-
Countryside access, bits, breeds and colours, knots, trees, pony behaviour, poisonous plants, general knowledge, first aid, feeding, saddlery, points of the horse, the foot and shoeing, field management, yard management, rugging and bandaging, travelling, etc…

Please contact Lucinda Hill on or Rachel Walsh on if you would like to be part of a team.
