Here is an archive of the News (more than a year old).

July 2009

We are planning some general training sessions for members at Cathy Tillier’s during the holidays. If you are interested, do ring Cathy on 01822 860350.

In addition, remember the Curry Night, 15th August at Cheriton! £12 on the door, bring a drink, curry provided! Contact Sue Ryan to book in.

June 2009

Well done to all our members out and about this weekend – especially to our Area Intermediate dressage team of Nikki Pannell, Hannah Gribble and Chloe Taylor Baker. Although there was a last minute change of venue, to Duchy College, complicated by a traffic accident that meant lengthy diversions, all 3 of our members did really well – Hannah came 2nd in her Arena, Chloe came 3rd in hers, and Nikki did brilliantly considering her young horse had NEVER been in an indoor arena before! Overall the team came 4th and will be aiming much higher next year.
Meanwhile Naomi Tibbs produced her best ever dressage score at Tall Trees arena, which augurs well for the Area eventing team, and at Liskeard show Kelly Hughes came 4th and 1st in the show jumping despite the horrendous conditions – well done to both of you.
See you all soon – keep an eye out for the camp reminders which will be coming through later this week.

Lamerton Members have been doing very well indeed recently – here are some news items well worth celebrating!

  • and ALL our Riding and Road Safety test candidates passed their test in difficult conditions today – Laura Jenkin, Oliver Hyde, Samuel Crouch, Sam Coward, Ayla Askew, Harry Lawson, Sophy Harper, Lucy Tillier, Lucy Goodman, Victoria Callow, Gemma Wilson – and can now go on to work towards their C test.
Well done all of you – and if you have achieved something you are proud of, please let Helen know.

March 2009

Check out this week’s Horse and Hound – Lamerton member Lucy Tillier has made it onto the From the Archives page with her spectacular fall at Camp in 2006!

February 2009
One of our older members, Natasha Stephens, has just been accepted by the British Racing School for training – well done Natasha!
Please note, the Open Evening this Tuesday at Helen’s has been postponed.
Well done to the Team Show Jumpers! The Lamerton Jaguars (Harry Lawson, Chloe Taylor-Baker, Georgie Dudden and Heidi Lewis) came 10th out of 37 teams, with 5 clear rounds, Harry producing a double clear.
The Lamerton Tigers (Sadie Pearce, Kelly Hughes, Nikki Pannell and Georgie Dudden) were less lucky, and despite three good clear rounds, the team was sadly eliminated. However, all members supported and encouraged each other, and were models of sportmanlike behaviour.
Congratulations to our Tetrathletes! Four of our senior Tet team have been selected for special training for the British International Squad! Well done Adam Sandercock, Rob and Kennan Fowlie and Rebecca Potter!

January 2009
Several of our Members attended Lamerton Hunt Meet at Hawthorns, Brentor on 17th January, and had their photos taken for Horse & Hound – keep an eye out over the next few editions!
The website is now under construction – please be patient, as it will take a while to get it fully up and running! Any comments or suggestions, contact David.
