STEPPING STONES TETERATHLON WIN FOR MIA!

Big news from the Pony Club National Championships at Offchurch Bury this weekend in the form of a 1400 ride and a resounding win in the Minimus Stepping Stones Tetrathlon for Mia E!

Mia led the triathlon on Friday with incredible shoot, swim, and run scores, and went into Sunday morning’s ride phase in a strong position for the tetrathlon competition.  She and the total legend that is Smudge were able to capitalise on this with a perfect 1400-point ride over well-prepared ground on a shortened course early on Sunday morning for 1st place in the tetrathlon as an individual, and 8th place for her South West Red regional team.

Such a thrill for Mia to don the blue and burgundy colours of the South West region in this national competition and to come home the winner – huge congratulations to Mia, and to her incredibly supportive family, who have made all Mia’s training and travel possible.  This kind of success at national level really puts Mia on the map as one to watch for the future as she looks to move from Minimus up to the Junior tetrathlon class.

We are also extremely proud of Evelyn O for selflessly lending the incomparable Smudge to Mia for the trip to Stepping Stones at the Nationals.  During this month alone Smudge will represent the Branch in National and Regional competitions in three different disciplines and with three different riders – there aren’t many Pony Club ponies of whom one can say the same!
