See below for full guidelines on what to wear for each activity.

Correct dress for Rallies & Training

  • Jodhpurs/breeches (beige, navy, brown, black, grey)
  • Hat silks – plain black, navy or Malvern Blue & Green panels
  • Malvern branded polo shirt, rugby shirt or sweatshirt for training sessions
  • Navy, black or tweed jacket, white shirt and PC tie for Rallies.
  • Dark coloured or Malvern branded waterproof when the weather is against us
  • Short boots and chaps or long riding boots
  • Hair in hair net – long hair to be put in a bun with hairnet over the top
  • Black, brown or navy gloves
  • No jewellery – watch acceptable
  • No hooded clothing
  • PC pink tagged riding hat – please contact Amanda Allsop if you need to have your hat tagged.

  • For XC rallies, compulsory long sleeves either long sleeved shirt/Malvern skin/sweatshirt/camp T-shirt plus body protector
  • Body protector rules for 2024 HERE
  • Ponies must be clean and tidy.
  • Tack must be well fitted and clean.
  • Neck straps should be worn if the pony does not wear a martingale.
  • Remember to check your stirrup irons – there should be 14mm clearance either side of your boots.
  • If used, grass reins must be fitted as shown HERE

Correct dress for Competitions

  • Beige jodhpurs/breeches
  • White collared shirt & PC tie or stock shirt & PC stock
    Navy, black or tweed jacket
  • PC badge with appropriate felt
  • Dark gloves or white/black for dressage
  • Short boots and chaps or long riding boots
    Hair ideally in a hairnet with PC scrunchie – long hair in a bun with hairnet over the top
  • PC pink tagged riding hat with a black or navy hat silk
    MPC skin for eventing XC and tetrathlon with panelled blue and green MPC hat silk
    Body protectors are compulsory for XC and recommended for all other disciplines
    Ponies must be clean and tidy with well fitting, clean tack.
  • White or navy MPC, or plain, clean saddle pad
  • Plaited for all Area, Regional and National competitions.
  • From 1st January 2025 you may only wear spurs if you display a yellow tag on your hat to indicate that you have passed either C+ or the Spurs Test. This tag will be removed by the organisers if you misuse your spurs.
