Entries are accepted strictly on the basis that Mid Antrim Branch of the Pony Club, its servants or agents, and the landowners do not accept responsibility for any claim in respect of damage to, or loss of property, accidents or injury to any person or property howsoever caused in connection with or arising directly or indirectly from this Event.

RULES
1. These competitions will be conducted under Pony Club Rules for Eventing 2019.
2. It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure they are wearing a jockey skull cap helmet with no fixed peak manufactured to the minimum specifications: PAS 015: 1998 or 2011 with BSI Kitemark, VG1 with BSI Kitemark, Snell E2001 onwards with Snell Label and Number, ASTM-F1163 2004a onwards with SEI Mark, AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards. Hats with titanium strips and peaks, which were designed for show jumping, are not recommended for cross country.
3. Body protectors must be worn for cross country and must meet BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple label) or BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label). If wearing a ‘body cage’ please make yourself known to the paramedic and provide him with the key. If an air jacket is worn for cross country it must be worn in addition to a normal body protector which meets the required standard.
4. Jewellery – No jewellery is allowed for safety reasons
5. Medical Armbands are advised if competitors are on their own (available to purchase at the event).
6. It is the responsibility of competitors to ensure that tack and equipment is safe and suitable. Bitless bridles and hackamores are not allowed.
7. Appropriate snaffle bits must be used for the dressage phase of the competition. Gag action bits are not permitted. Contact the organisers if you require further clarification.
8. The organisers reserve the right to refuse to permit participation by any competitor.
9. Stopwatches must not be worn.
10. The Chief Steward will have final say on any decisions / disputes.
11. No horse/pony may compete more than once.
12. Any competitor eliminated on the cross country course MUST leave the course immediately at a walk when asked to do so by any Fence Judge or Official.
13. Schooling after the competition is not permitted.
14. Dressage and show jumping times will be available on Friday 26th April between 7pm and 10pm ONLY by phoning Nigel 07500 934204 or Lizzy 07835113923; or click on 2&3 Phase Event 2019. Running Order can be downloaded & printed from the website.
15. The course will be open for inspection from 3.00 p.m. on Friday 26th April.
16. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
17. £10.00 deposit will be payable for each bib and will be refunded only on return of the bib.
18. Competitors cannot start without first declaring.

SCORING
1. Dressage tests will be scored out of the total marks available then converted into a percentage. This will then be inverted to give a final mark – the lower the better!
2. Show jumping faults will be awarded as follows:
a. 1 refusal 4 faults
b. 3 refusals Elimination
c. 1 pole knocked down 4 faults
3. Cross Country faults will be awarded as follows:
a. First refusal at obstacle 20 faults
b. Second refusal at the same obstacle 40 faults
c. Third refusal at same obstacle Elimination
d. Four refusals throughout course Elimination
e. Jumping the alternative ‘L’ obstacle 15 faults (marked by a white circle with a red ‘L’)
f. First fall of rider 65 faults
g. Second fall of rider Elimination
h. Fall of horse Elimination
i. Error of course not rectified Elimination
j. Omission of obstacle or boundary flag Elimination
k. Each second over/under the optimum time 0.4 faults
l. Continuing with open chinstrap/no hat Elimination
