Passports and Vaccinations 2025
To ensure the health and biosecurity of all horses and ponies, the following vaccination rules apply to all Pony Club activities:
-
Passport and Vaccination Records
-
Valid passport and vaccination records must accompany your horse/pony to all events
-
These documents must be available for inspection event officials and produced on request
2. Equine Influenza Vaccination Schedule
No horse / pony may attend an activity, compete or be present as a companion unless it has a Record of Vaccination against equine influenza completed by the veterinary surgeon who gave the vaccination, signed and stamped line by line.
All horses and ponies receiving a new primary course of vaccinations must be vaccinated according to this schedule:
-
Primary vaccination: 2 vaccinations must be given within 21-60 days of each other. The horse/pony may attend activities 7 days after the 2nd vaccination
-
First booster: must be administered within 120-180 days of the second primary vaccination
-
Subsequent boosters: administered within every 365 days
-
Horses and ponies must not attend events within 7 days of vaccination, including the day of the injection and the following 6 days
For regular competitors and those travelling internationally, it’s recommended to follow the optimal vaccination schedule, with a booster administered 6 months +21 days before an event, in line with FEI protocols.
3. Restart Vaccinations
-
If vaccinations are not up-to-date (e.g., missed boosters), the horse must restart the vaccination schedule and observe the 7-day post-vaccine stand-down period before entering any Pony Club activity
