Minchinhampton PC to host Area Quiz 2017

Area Quiz – Teams & Training
You may be aware that Minchinhampton Branch are hosting the area Quiz on 26th February 2017, we will need volunteers to help on the day but also need to put forwards at least 2 teams for the competition! Teams consist of 4 members with ages from under 10 to under 25 – so opportunities for al of you to take part!
We aim to make the Quiz more interactive and ‘fun’ for all who take part, so please don’t be put off by previous experiences.
Rachael Dunlop has offered to do ‘Team Training’ during January & February, please let me know if you would like to get involved.

Residential Camp at Pontispool 2017

Residential Camp at Pontispool 2017 – please let me know if you would like to attend
The dates for our Residential Camp at Pontispool 2017 will be Fri 31st March – Sunday 2nd April.
We will again be opening up this Residential weekend to other branches in Area 9, priority will be given to MPC members but you must let me know that you would like to come.
This is a great venue and an excellent opportunity to train over a selection of XC fences before the season begins.

Christmas Rally 18th Dec at 2pm

Dear All

Join us for some festive fun games at our Christmas rally starting at 2pm on 18th Dec in the Indoor School at Cross Farm – we will be finished by 4pm so hopefully you can get home before dark. Fun and games on and off your pony.

Dress yourselves and your ponies up as a Christmas character or just cover them in tinsel. Siblings on foot are very welcome to join the fun.

Open to ALL ages and abilities wanting to have fun! Festive refreshments to finish the afternoon. If you would like to attend please reply to this email.

MPC 2017 Summer Camp – Date Change

Due to the Area 9 Dressage Competition being held on Wednesday 26th July 2017, we have decided to move the MPC Summer Camp dates back by one day.  This will now be held between Thursday 27th July – Monday 31st July (competition day) 2017.

Residential Camp at Stockland Lovell 15th & 16th October

Residential Camp at Stockland Lovell 15th & 16th October
This is open to all members who are in school year 7 and above, we will arrive on the evening of Friday 14th October and leave after lunch on Sunday 16th October. Weather permitting the aim of the weekend is to make use of the extensive XC course which has jumps of all heights, water complexes, ditches, banks and drops – so pleanty to do fo all abilities.  There are also 2 large out door arenas we can use for Show Jumping or Dressage if required. I will send ou a separate email with more information, but it would help to work out costs if I know how many members are interesed in attending – so please let me know.

MPC Summer Camp Info

Names are coming in for Camp, but I know that there is still quite alot of you who would like to come but have not yet sent in your forms and deposit. If I have not spoken to you in the past couple of days PLEASE let me know if you want to attend Camp or not, if I don’t hear from you in the next week I will assume that you will not be coming.
Help Forms – I am getting alot of names coming in for Camp with no ‘help forms’ – it may be that you do not want to commit this far ahead, but everyone who has a child attending camp is expected to help with setting up and during the week so we will be following up anyone who has not got their name on the list!
Second Hand Stall at Camp – I really need one person to step up and be ‘Team Leader’ of the Second Hand Stall during Camp, this would involve helping to set it up the day before Camp, then opening up each morning, taking the money home each evening and then helping to clear it away and settle up money owed at the end of the week. I have had offers of help to run the stall each day but do need 1 person to oversee it, time-wise this would only involve some commitment before and after Camp and at the beginning and end of each day which would leave the days free. Please let me know if you can help me with this.

The Minchinhampton Pony Club Open Show will be held on Sunday 25th September 2016.

Pony Club Grassroots Regional Championships 27th & 28th August 2016



Pony Club Grassroots Regional Championships 27th & 28th August 2016

We are pleased to confirm that the Pony Club Regional Grassroots Championships will be held at Rectory Farm on 27th & 28th August 2016.

  • Dressage will be held on Saturday 27th August (Dressage Test – PC Grassroots Test 2016)
  • Show Jumping will be held on Sunday 28th August (height of jumps 80cm)
  • This is a ‘Team Competition’ and teams will be able qualify in the relevant classes at the Area 9 Dressage and Show Jumping Competitions, the top 10 teams at each competition will qualify for the Regional Grassroots Championships.
  • This competition is open to any age of member with any size of horse or pony, riders must not have represented their Branch at Novice level or above
  • Look for the qualifying classes in the following schedules 
Area 9 Show Jumping Competition 17th July (Cotswold Hunt Branch)
Area 9 Dressage Competition 27th July (Croome Branch)

Riding Hats and Body Protectors

All Riding Hats must now have a White PC Tag or a Red BE Tag, if your hat (or hats) do not have either of these, please bring them along to the MPC End of Year Celebration to be checked and tagged.
Body Protectors used for PC Cross Country Training /Competitions and Pony Racing must meet BETA 2009 Level 3 standard (purple label)
