Monday 25th June

Once again Jonquil Hemming, British Pony Eventing team trainer, has been kind enough to spare us a day to train our senior members. The day will consist of two mounted sessions, flatwork in the morning and jumping in the afternoon, as well as a course building/walking session and lunch. The exact format will depend on the numbers and mix booked in.

Cost will be £60 per person excluding lunch. Numbers will be limited and this training is targeted at members who hold their PC B test or are competing at approximately PC Intermediate level or above, although there may be some flexibility  – we will open the training up to neighbouring branches if we have insufficient numbers.

This day counts as a general rally for those requiring qualification for PC Area teams. Please book in with me (Katie Williams) on, full payment in advance will be required.

3 Day Rally 2018

This year’s 3 Day Rally, will be held on Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th August 2018, at Park Farm, Llantillio Crossenny NP7 8TD, by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Adrian Watkins.

This is a brilliant 3 days of riding, for children between the ages of 4-11 years old. Older children who are either nervous, or on novice ponies, are also very welcome too.

They will all have the opportunity do some flat work, some show jumping, some cross country in the woods, some mounted games, and to have a go in the handy pony ring.

If they don’t want to take part in either of the jumping parts, they don’t have to. The aim is for everyone to be happy and to have fun!

There will also be the opportunity for children to take their Pony Club E & D tests, and their mini road rider badge.

Residential  Camp 2018

This year’s camp dates have been confirmed as the 11 – 13th August 2018 and will be held at Lincomb Equestrian Centre.

The timetable will be slightly different this year as dates/availability have proved tricky!

Outline plan as follows;

Arrive at Lincomb for 9.30 – 10am. 3 full days of lessons including stable management and evening entertainment. Choice of breakfast to include full cooked, fruit, cereals, toast & porridge, picnic type lunch & cooked evening meal. Plenty of snacks available throughout the day. Evenings will include a quiz & races/team games.

In the past parents have arrived on the morning of departure but this year to maximise time, parents will need to collect early evening.

All pony Club members aged 11 years or over on the 1st Jan 2018 are able to attend. The cost will be £235.00. Straw bedding and haylage are included, shavings will incur an additional charge. You will need to bring feed for your horse/pony as well as stable equipment. A full list will be sent out nearer the time.

We will be camping so sleeping bags will be needed and if you have a tent, great – if not don’t worry there will be plenty of spaces.

If you haven’t been to Lincomb before follow the link to see their lovely facilities.

Please let us know by the 10th Feb if you are interested in attending so we can confirm instructors and plan our timetable.  We will be at the awards evening if you have any questions or would like some more information.

A deposit of £50.00 will be required by end of March along with the attached form to confirm your place.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
