
Monmouthshire Pony Club are introducing a new progressive training scheme to fulfil the potential of all our members by providing both coaching and support to everyone. There will be a mixture of flat, jumping and dismounted sessions approximately monthly. The winter training series consists of three different Series; (please note the series criteria is just a guide line and you may take part across all levels as appropriate, but there will be awards at each level)
Bronze Training Series
This series is from lead-rein – 75cm for jumping and flatwork up to PC Grassroots level (E – D+)
We are aiming to have one flat session, one jumping and one PC Badge session a month.
Sessions will also include some fun elements
Aims– To have fun while learning and creating a bond between you and your pony
Silver Training Series
75cm – 95cm Jump, Flat; Grassroots – PC Novice dressage (D+ – C+)
Aiming to have two Flat sessions, one jumping session and one dismounted session a month
Aims– Progressive improvement of you and your horse/pony and to gear you up for area type competitions and efficiency tests
Gold Training Series
1m onwards Jumping, PC Intermediate – Open Dressage (C+ onwards)
Aiming to have two Flat sessions, one jumping session and one dismounted session a month
Aims– To provide consistent training platforms for both you and your horse
Dismounted sessions
The regular dismounted sessions are a new venture for MHPC. Likely topics will be Goal setting and Teamwork, psychology session, Pilates for riders, lunging to improve your horse etc. (If you have any ideas of a session you think would be beneficial, please let Georgie know.)
Badges will include; Beach Ride, Fire Marshall etc.
Awards
Awards will be given to members who have shown commitment and improvement in these series
Dates for the session will be on our Calendar Page of the website. Where who to book with and payments will be confirmed.
Jumping and Flatwork sessions will count towards rally needed to represent Monmouthshire at area competitions
