NCHPC At The Regionals

Following success at Area 9 competitions, a number of our grassroots riders qualified for the Regional Championships held at Rectory Farm. The Championships are for all qualified riders in Areas 9, 10, 11, 13 & 18, so entries are high and it is a true Championship test.

Starting with our showjumpers, first up was Sienna. She was competing in the Pony Club Mini/Major qualifier, trying to win one of the two tickets to the final held at the London International Horse Show. She made it to the final jump off and finished 6th.

Poppy was competing as an individual in the 70cm showjumping. She jumped a lovely clear in the first round and then had a couple of unlucky poles in the second round.

The 80cm showjumping team of Chloe, Alessia, Florence and Lily were next up. Over the two rounds, they each jumped a clear, but again a few poles fell. So on this occasion, the team did not make it to the podium.

Over in the dressage arenas, Fay was competing as an individual in the 70cm. The scores were very tight and she came away with a well deserved 9th place.

Chloe was our busiest NCHPC member, as she had also qualified as an individual in the 80cm dressage. Again a close marking section, so to finish in the top third with a young horse, must be commended.

Over the weekend all our riders, some new to this level of competition, were true representatives of the NCHPC. Well done all!
