NCHPC’s Blenheim Triumph

The prestigious Blenheim International Horse Trials runs a Pony Club Arena Eventing competition that attracts entries from all over the country.  Our 90cm team of Rose, Tara, Poppy and Bonny were one of 39 teams entered. With a 160 individual rounds, we knew it was going to be a long day. The team were on early morning and again it was a number of show jumps followed by cross country fences all judged by an optimum time. Despite only watching a few others go round, our members had judged the pace required perfectly and the team went into the lead.

Then followed the agonizing wait as all the other teams went round. Hour by hour we remained in the lead and then finally at 17.30 it was confirmed – the team had won!! An amazing achievement that all the team members should be very proud of.

To top off an amazing day, Rose won the individual prize, Tara was 8th and Poppy was 9th.

A big thank you to team trainer Sophie for all her help on the day. Also our DC Jackie and the competitors’ parents for their support on the day. Finally thank you to Evoke for sponsoring the class – our team are delighted with their new hats.
