Working Rallies are the backbone of the Pony Club and as a branch member you should try to attend as many as you can over the year.

  • A working rally indicates a rally that will usually begin with flatwork instruction and could include any other activity.  So come prepared with body protectors in case you should need them.
  • Plan ahead when booking your rally, remember to send in your rally reply form by the required date and pay online or as requested by the organiser.
  • Confirmation is sent out via email with your times, if you do not receive confirmation then you must check with the rally organiser by phone, as it is possible your application has gone astray.  The rally organiser will then be able to tell you if there is space.
  • Arrive in good time and let the DC or the organiser know you have arrived, they will be able to point you in the right direction and introduce you to your Instructor.
  • If your child is on a lead rein then you should supply a leader unless prior arrangements have been made with the organiser.
  • Offer your help if you can to set up the equipment and to put away equipment or to serve refreshments.
  • Parents please watch from a distance and try not to interfere with the instructors
  • Every effort is made to place your your child in a suitable ride.  Sometimes due to numbers or space it is very difficult, so please be understanding.  However, should there be an obvious problem with the ride please do not approach the organiser or instructor but speak to the DC or assistant DC.
  • Always remember to say Thank-You to your instructor and organiser and host at the end of your session – Good Manners cost nothing but are always remembered.
  • Your Horse / Pony must have a current passport and be up to date with all vaccinations, please bring this with you to be checked at your first rally.
  • We are keen to keep up our high standards on Tack & Turnout on both Pony and Rider so please wear the correct dress, check the turnout details over the page.
  • Hats must always be worn and be of the correct standard – and your hat will be tagged by an official after it has been checked.
  • Please do not ask for special requests as refusals can often offend.
  • If you find you cannot attend the rally even if it is on the morning of the rally, PLEASE let the Rally Organiser know – there may be a child waiting for a place.
  • Remember a lot of work goes into organising a Rally and it is all put together by Volunteers, we do always try our best to accommodate everybody – Please think about this before complaining.
  • Should you cancel without good reason your payment will be forfeited. Refunds will be only be given if their is a valid reason.
  • Your help is always very much appreciated in clearing up at the end of any events we put on – Thank you.

MOST OF ALL WE WANT YOUR CHILD TO HAVE LOTS OF FUN, WHILST LEARNING AND TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND ENJOY THEMSELVES!
