I write this with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye. I am tentatively considering finding a home for Misty (sell or trial/WVTB). We have had Misty for 4.5 years and she has been an exceptional first ridden teaching both Dylan and Alice to ride. She doesn’t owe us anything and my priority would be to find her a lovely home where she can teach another child. Just a little bit about her:
– 12hh, grey mare, 14 years
– Done all PC activities; 4 mini camps, SJ, XC, mounted games lead rein and Junior Novice and  numerous rallies
– loads well in trailer and lorry, good to catch, shoe and clip
– safe to hack being led off another horse and on/off lead rein
– loves hunting with confident child as very keen
– Safe and sensible, not a kick along, goes well off leg of small child
– jumps happily over x poles and up to 40cm; will just trot over so perfect for small children
– will stand for hours to be groomed and fussed over
– the not so good bits – must be very carefully managed as very prone to laminitis. Also has mild cushings so has half a prascend tablet per day. Can be mareish so better with mares or kept on own.

An incredibly hard decision. The ideal solution for me is to do a swap with a child who has a pony that is too much. Hoping in about a year, Alice will be able to share our lovely Joey with Dylan.
