Grace and Amy were out on Monday competing at the Mini SJ champs at BCA. The Mini SJ champs was combined with the OBH South Halloween show.

It was a two phase course being timed from jump 6. The course was very technical, involving several 90 degree turns to jumps, skinny’s and a variety of Halloween spooky accessories on the wings.

Amy and Grace did incredibly well in very stiff competition. Both jumped clear and really challenged themselves with going for cut throughs and turning the ponies tightly round wings, something that they were both not very experienced in doing.

A great time was had by all and both really rode for it!

Grace came 4th out of 14 in the 70cm and Amy came 9th out of 26 in the 50cm.

Well done OBH North

Mini ODE report from Helen Parry Oct 2019

The committed OBH kids braved the torrential rain and rivers of mud to compete at first Areas 12 Mini Championships at Rosehill this weekend.

The kids and ponies were very well turned out (a number of ponies having been independently plaited by their riders), until they unloaded and started the walk up the hill in pouring rain to the dressage.

All kids rode tremendously well and represented the club with great spirits and focus despite the conditions.

In the 50cm championship class, Hannah show jumped clear and rode a nice dressage test. After Harley slipped in the collecting ring, Hannah rode a sensible and steady clear round through the cross country and was placed 3rd.

Amy was joint first after the dressage and show jumped clear. She had a really unfortunate fall at the second to last cross country fence after Darcy slipped. She got back on, re jumped the fence and completed to finish 5th.

In the 70 cm championship class, Grace jumped clear in show jumping and cross country and rode a lovely test coming 2nd overall.

Well done to all the Mini Champs riders!
We have great pipeline for the Regional team in a few years !!

Area Eventing Off Church  7th July 2019

Jake Molony WON his section in the 90 cm class which means he has qualified for the Championships in August. They finished on their dressage score of 28.96 and won their section (by a margin of 10 points!) to qualify for the Championships!! Jake took it all in his stride and Sarah was beside herself – very proud mum 👏

The regional team lost Riley & Ella due to lameness so were down to a team of 3 which is always tough, the team consisted of Imogen , Olivia Parry & Jake P-S. They came 3rd as a team which was an excellent result given how inexperienced they are at eventing, they held their nerve and all rode clear XC.

As individuals Imogen and Ella WON their section finishing on a dressage score of 31.88

Jake and Jen came 2nd in their section finishing on a dressage score of 34.79

Olivia and Pip came 7th, had a good dressage of 35.83 & an unfortunate pole in the SJ so added an extra 4 penalties to their score.

The regional team also qualified for the Championships and team mate Ella Vincett can join them on the day hopefully if Riley is fit & well.

Holly & Evie represented us in the 100 and were given 2 other individuals to make up a composite team. They WON as a team however don’t get to go to the Champs as composite teams cant qualify ☹️

As individuals they rode really well, Holly finishing 6th in her section and Evie 8th.

Well done for being professional, polite and representing OBH North to a very high standard, we are proud of you all and very excited about going to Champs

Area 12 Show Jumping, Addington 22nd July 2019

Reporting back from Addington yesterday at the Area qualifier for the show jumping champs, as you would expect well designed courses catching many out

We had a mixed day with some highs and lows. Everyone showed great support for their tram mates

Novice team
Ella and Riley we’re not on their usual form after an unfortunate breakdown left them a bit unsettled on the way to Addington ☹️ they battled against the odds and got there for the team . Jake and Maya rode good rounds but we’re unlucky not being placed on Swan and Paddy on what proved to be a tricky and highly competitive course

In the Intermediate, Despite being the first 2 competitors out on the course Evie and Holly finished their 2 rounds on 0 and went into the jump off with 5 others
After a very tense jump off holly was placed 2nd on Lily qualifying for the National PC champs and Evie 7th on Ash,
thanks to all the wonderful support and to Catherine Cawdron  for course walking and giving such great guidance throughout the day
Well done everyone you were a joy to be with.

2019 Dressage Dengie results from the 17th March Addington

Very well done to all of our members who competed at the Dengie Areas at Addington on 17 March.  The weather was kind to us and it was great to see so many members representing OBH North.

Both Sophie Browne and Sophie Griffiths did brilliantly and have qualified for the Dengie Championships.  Sophie B qualified on Tam coming 3rd with 69%.  She also did really well on her own horse Todd and came 5th.  Sophie G came 5th in the 95cm on her new horse Pete and is also through to the Dengie Championships.

The rest of our members did really well too.   Beth Howard and the lovely Grace came 7th in the 85cm.  Ella Vincett had a clear first round of the 85cm but had an unfortunate error in the jump off.  Holly Vincett also had an unfortunate pole in the 95cm but it is only the 3rd time she has competed on her new horse Fred so well done to them.  Finally Jake Molony was totally out of his comfort zone doing dressage!  He did really  well and came 9th overall with a very credible score of 68.96%.
