PC TESTS

 

 

E test – This is an official voluntary test for young new members. It is not necessary to either take or pass this Test before attempting the D test.
Candidates should be accompanied by an instructor. The test may be taken on or off the lead rein.  Minimum age 4+ years.

D test – Minimum age 8 years. Must be able to ride off the lead rein. Must have passed The Pony Club Road Rider Mini Achievement Badge

D+ test – Minimum age 10 years. Must hold D test and be working towards developing a balanced seat independent of the reins.  Members will be expected to attend a series of stable management and ridden training sessions.

C test – Minimum age 11. Must hold D+ test and have passed The Pony Club Road Rider Achievement Badge

C+ testMinimum age 12.  Must hold C test and have passed the The Pony Club Road Rider Test or the BHS Riding and Road Safety Exam before taking C+.

B test Riding and B test Horse and Pony CareMinimum age 14.

N.B. *For D, C and C+ Test, Members must have attained the relevant Road Rider Achievement Badge/Test  

Members holding C+ Test (Horse & Pony Care) may progress to B Test (Horse & Pony Care), Lungeing and AH. To take B Test (Riding), Members must hold the full C+ Test (Riding and Horse & Pony Care).

Members holding B Test (Horse & Pony Care) may progress to Lungeing and AH. To take the A Test, Members must hold the full B Test (Riding and Horse & Pony Care).

The tests not only show what you achieve within the Pony Club but they provide you with a platform of knowledge for the Care of your horse/pony which can be used as you gain experience and knowledge throughout your horsey days.
We also use the tests to help us group riders together so they are of similar standards.
