OBH North Pony Club offers a variety of rallies aimed at improving children’s theoretical knowledge as well as teaching practical care techniques for their ponies. These also provide training for the next pony club tests. A rally is a Group ridden lesson.
To book a place at one or more of the rallies you will need to go to the online booking page which is linked to the Pony Club National database, and follow the instructions. You will need to have a PayPal account – this is easily set up if you don’t already have one.
Each rally has a closing date for bookings which is detailed in the rally information and usually 2 weeks before the rally date. We try not to limit spaces at rallies but we will close them on time and some will close more than two weeks before the event. All Rallies must be paid for at the time of booking. No refunds will be given after the booking closing date.
Members are expected to turn themselves and their ponies out cleanly and correctly.
Guidelines can be found on the Rally Attire page.
If you need to cancel or withdraw from a rally before the booking closing date, then we will issue a credit for the booking fee.
YOU MUST HAVE ATTENDED THREE RALLIES TO QUALIFY FOR CAMP. Camp the previous year counts as one rally.
Instructors and venues are subject to change. In the event of bad weather, please check your emails and our Facebook page for cancellation or change of venue notices.
All of the coaches we used are hand-picked for their skills, qualifications and expertise in delivering this system at various levels and in a group environment. All have extensive riding and competition experience alongside their coaching and accreditation for The Pony Club.
Requests for same group times, shared transport and shared ponies are at the discretion of the rally organiser and cannot always be accommodated. It is quite within reason for there to be a gap of 1 hour between sibling, transport and shared pony groups to allow for the sessions to run in a chronological order. Managing logistics for attending the sessions is solely the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Please remember that all the work in putting on rallies and other branch activities is done by a committee of volunteers who themselves have jobs and families but give up their free time to The Pony Club.
