More Dengie Qualifiers

Congratulations to the following members who have qualified for the Dengie Regionals:

Mead Jenkins who has qualified his horse Connie for the Intermediate and Open.

Georgia Vella who has qualified Freckles for the Novice and Intermediate.

Kathy Williams who has qualified Flossie for the Open.

We had several members competing yesterday at the VAH PC show at Bury Farm in both dressage and showjumping.

Dressage – Charlotte Tuckwell, Mimo Sandford, Kathy Williams qualified for Dengie Intermediate regional final (Georgia Vella narrowly missing out by only one place).

– Lucy Brett-Chinnery gave a very good performance in the Dengie Novice.

Showjumping – Katie Millward jumped the 60cm and 70cm and is definitely one to watch on her new pony.

– Cian Greene was on flying form in the 80cm, one of the quickest rounds, but even the amazing Barney couldn’t quite make the very ambitious jump off turn.

– Georgia Voisey is back on Hannah and in the 70cm showed determination over a very strong course.

– in the 90cm, Lucy and Georgia Vella had just 4 faults apiece and Jess Fallon jumped a great double clear.

– Kathy Williams won the 1m with one of only 2 double clears, and although not clear, Jess and Mimo both showed that they are more than capable at this height with more to come as the season progresses.

OBHS had fantastic results on Saturday at the Southdown Hunt West Inter-branch Team Showjumping at Hickstead.

70cm Team consisting of: Heather, Katie, Lilli & Georgia V. Unfortunately the team didn’t make it to the jump off but Lilli and Georgia both pulled off brilliant double clears, though sadly weren’t quite quick enough to make the top ten.

80cm Team consisting of: Megan, Charlotte, Georgia & Lucy. The Team went through to the jump off on a score of 0, Lucy had an unlucky 4 faults with the team finishing in 4th place out of 38 teams! both Megan and Charlotte jumped double clears but again were out of the top ten.

90cm Team consisting of: Dylan, Jess, Isabel & Charley. The Team went through to the jump off on a score of 0, Dylan had an unlucky 4 faults with the team finishing in 6th place and Jess with a fabulous double clear finished 7th as an individual out of 148 riders!

1m Team consisting of: Kathy, Orla, Charlotte C & Mimo. The Team went through to the jump off on a score of 4. With Kathy and Orla jumping double clears, Mimo had an unlucky 4 faults with the team finishing in 9th place, sadly no individual placings.

CONGRATULATIONS! A brilliant day for the showjumping team at Hickstead.

First was the preliminary round where we had to come in the top 8 out of 21 teams to qualify to jump in the main arena. Our team which consisted of: Kathy, Orla, Mimo & Charlotte finished on a score of 8 faults allowing us to compete in the main arena!

We were the first team to go, with all teams starting on 0 again. Kathy jumped first and completed a perfect clear round. Charlotte was second tojump and had an unlucky 4 faults. Orla and Mimo both jumped great rounds too, we the team finishing on a score of 8 faults. Tied for third place the team had to elect someone to jump off for the team placings. Charlotte did the jump off unfortunately had a very unlucky pole, which resulted in the team finishing overall in fantastic 5th place.

Kathy jumped a super double clear and ended up 2nd individually and also won a rug!

Well done to everyone!
