Family Fun Show

During the summer, we host a fun family Pony Club show by kind permission of the Kennels at Bryanston.

A happy show with a class for everyone! We welcome all Pony Club members and all other riders to our Show, which features a host of showing classes including junior and open jumping, as well as gymkhana, handy pony and fancy dress. Two dedicated show jumping rings [the first, under 12’s only pole on the ground to 60cm, the second from 70cm to 95cm].

With an an active Triathlon and Tetrathlon team the Portman Pony Club co hosts our own Triathlon competition by kind permission of Leweston School, this is usually held in January. Please see Triathlon and Tetrathlon page for further details

Fun rides

Join us for our own Portman Pony Club Bluebell Ride.

This popular fun ride through unspoilt Dorset wood and downland with stunning views.

Start off with a gentle ride through the bluebell woodland (4 miles, suitable for those on the lead rein). Add on the next loop of 3 miles over more open country if you wish (suitable for lead rein if the leader’s fitness allows!). The final loop of 3 miles can then be completed – some areas are steep and/or stony (not lead rein/novice suitable). There is a very short stretch of country lane to get from the lorry park to the start.
