Ridgeway PC has a new DC

With effect from 1st January 2015, Caroline Wilson has now become our new District Commissioner.  A prior Ridgeway Pony Club mum of four years, a rider herself with two horses and she runs her own Accountancy practice as her day job.  Caroline succeeds Hazel Tee, who after 3 fantastic years has relinquished her crown.  We would like to thank Hazel for all her hard work and enthusiasm during these past years and wish her well with her new found freedom!

Hat Rules for 2015/16

Hat Rules for 2015/16
The European Hat Standards are being revised to remove (BS)EN 1384 during 2015, so any hats that are only marked with this standard cannot be tagged with the new white tags for Pony Club. Most of these hats will already have a purple tag on from previous tagging, but in the event of one of these hats requiring a new tag only a purple tag can be used.

Any hats that are marked with one of the other standards permissible by the Pony Club (PAS 015, Snell E2001 an AS/NZS 3838) should be tagged with one of the new white hat tags before 31st December 2015.

In 2015 hats bearing both white and purple tags will be permitted for Pony Club activities, after 31st December 2015 no hat bearing a purple tag will be permitted for Pony Club activities.

Latest Area 9 Guidance (28/1/2015)

"For 2014/2015 - hats with prefix (BS)EN1384 and kitemark
are allowed but cannot be tagged with new white hat tags
(It must bear the CE mark and a quality symbol, either
the BSI Kitemark, the SAI Global symbol or the
official Snell label with number.

The CE symbol on its own is not sufficient)

For 2016 - hats with prefix (BS)EN1384 and kitemark are NOT allowed

(BS)EN1384 without kitemark are already not allowed."

Please bring your hats to future Ridgeway PC activities where Hannah and Caroline will be able to check them and issue a white tag where appropriate.

If you are planning on purchasing a new hat this year, we would advise you to go to a reputable Tack Shop where they will be able to make sure the hat you buy conforms to the new regulations.
