Camp 2026
Summer camp saw the sun shine on us and it really was a great weekend of fun and laughter. We have parents stay over at camp and we all camp or caravan for the 2 nights/3 days.
We had 3 great days of learning, lots of fun and games and lots of laughter. We were entertained by the YELA members who played horsey bingo with us all, had a slip and slide on the go with water balloons as well as Maggie Wylie who came along to talk show jumping with us. She then went out and built a course with the members in preparation for their 1 day event the following day. Thank you to Maggie for giving up your time for us.
On the Sunday, we had a 1 day event. The members went through their dressage tests, had a round of show jumping and then went off out onto the course to a round of 60cm XC jumps. A nice wee confidence builder before area’s and a great confidence builder for the young ones who have never done the course on their own before. The ground is hard with the dry summer so we didn’t push it by putting jumps up or asking too much of the ponies. We had 9 going off to area’s the next week so we left it so that they were fit and didn’t go away with jarred legs.
Thanks to all the parents for a wonderful camp. It is always a great way for parents to get to know each other better and to build relationships and it didn’t disappoint.
