A GUIDE TO AREA COMPETITIONS & TEAM TRAINING<\/h5>\n
SELECTION POLICY V1<\/a> – PLEASE READ<\/span><\/h5>\n
Areas and Championships:<\/h5>\n
Every Pony Club branch is part of a larger regional grouping, and the Royal Artillery is part of Area 14.<\/h5>\n
There are Area competitions which take place from June to July with three levels of Championships taking place in August. National, Regional and Mini Championships.<\/h5>\n
The Regional and National levels are competitions in Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing.<\/h5>\n
Regional is geared towards the more novice members and are a perfect stepping stone for anyone looking to compete at The Pony Club National Championships at Offchurch Bury, Warwickshire in the future.<\/h5>\n
In addition to the Area Team competitions\u2026<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n
Interbranch competitions are great fun,<\/b> and a brilliant way to learn about good team play. You can enter as an individual or you can join teams from the RA to take part.<\/h5>\n

Training Squad:<\/h5>\n
The Royal Artillery run a training squad for members who are invited to training sessions during spring and early summer. We are looking for commitment (being a loyal and active member of the branch where members are expected to do 3 rallies \u2013 Area 14 rule) and performance at rallies, during training sessions and in competitions.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
We give as many members as possible experience and try to send many competitors to Area competitions as possible \u2026 however, we will not send anyone we do not feel is comfortable to compete at the level, so selection is not guaranteed. This may mean a member is disappointed, it is almost inevitable, but that is all part of the learning curve which we hope will encourage future commitment and performance.<\/h5>\n

Team selection will be made in consultation with our DC, trainers & coaches.<\/h5>\n
The squad is not set in stone, and we look forward to seeing members join during the year.<\/h5>\n
