Hi Guys

That time of year again where we start to plan CAMP 2019! Already have some people down for a place, but we need your deposit please, as soon as possible, so we can start the planning.

Camp will take place from Sunday the 11th August 2016 it is expected you will arrive around 3.30-4pm, camp runs through to Friday the 16th August 2019 we like parents to join us at 2pm for a presentation and hopefully a demo of the skills you have learnt whilst with us at camp.

Cost of Camp will be £360.00, a deposit of £60 is required now to secure your place, please, please send your deposits as quickly as possible, to Jackie Harness 68 Grammar School Walk, Brigg, North Lincolnshire, DN20 8AY.

Please note if you would like to join us only a part of the week for example Wednesday to Friday please notify me asap.

If you have any questions please contact me Claire Maw on 07940842860, questions about camp or even if you are worried about how to transport your horse/pony. We often can reach arrangements and assist in some way.

All members and especially new members/campers, please note you must attend at least one rally before camp. This is so our Chief Instructor Tracy Rivett, can assess your riding ability and place you in the most appropriate group. There are plenty of rallies remaining, so please book in with Liz Willerton 07999507203 as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so.

We ensure that the groups have no more than 6 members, and we try to ensure that you are with people of similar ability and also with your friends. Tracy puts a great deal of thought into preparing the rides, parents are respectfully asked to bear this in mind. We share this information in the welcome packs on Sunday evening.

The college has excellent facilities on offer to us including an indoor school with large selection of show jumps, all weather outdoor school, cross country schooling paddock and hacking trial.

Member’s daily timetables are very full, although we do have some ‘free time’ when we can enjoy a meal and have time to relax after a busy day. The accommodation has access to two social areas where we can watch TV, we can enjoy DVD’s and also play pool/games etc. In addition, we have the use of an indoor sports hall, with facilities for basketball/netball etc. so feel free to bring along basketballs, netballs, volleyballs badminton equipment. There is also a tennis court and large playing field close to the accommodation block. If we have any budding tennis or rounder’s players out there please bring along rackets, bats and balls.

Accommodation at the college is modern and well equipped, each room having its own en-suite shower room. (All bedding is provided) There is a large kitchen on each floor where you can make a drink and have a snack at supper time, feel free to bring cakes and biscuits to share with the other campers and breaks and at night.

I can confirm that the cost of camp includes the horses bedding (shavings), hay or haylage. If individuals feel they need more bedding than what is provided, this can be purchased from the college approximate cost £7.00 per bale

It is essential that the following points are noted by parents and by members who are joining us for camp and are noted for the purposes of the health and safety policies and legislation:-

-ALL MEMBERS MUST REMAIN IN THE COLLEGE PREMISIS.

-If members leave the college grounds the organisers cannot be held responsible for their health and safety and IN SUCH CASE MEMBERS WILL BE SENT HOME.

-It is an expectation that all members are mindful of the fact that although the regular students have left for the summer, it still remains a working college. ANY INCIDENT OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN THE MEMBER BEEN SENT HOME.

-Members are not allowed to smoke or drink alcohol on the college premises.

-College regulations require members to sleep in the rooms they have been allocated.

-Members will sign a register last thing at night to confirm that they are in the allocated rooms, this register is used in case of a fire.

-The college does not allow bicycles, skate boards, roller blades, scooters etc.

-As the college is a working farm, Parents WILL NOT be able to visit during our stay.

In case of an emergency or query please contact Claire Maw on 07940842860

Details for arrival and departure

ARRIVAL on Sunday the 11th August 2019 between 3.30-4pm. Members will be greeted by a camp organiser, horses and ponies will be checked onto the yard by Tracy Rivett all animals need to be in good health, freshly shod and fully vaccinated. Following this check, passports need to be handed to the camp organisers and members will be shown their allocated stable, feed store, tack and tools areas.

Parents are asked to then transport members and luggage to the accommodation block, where they can see the room in which they are allocated.

ALL PARENTS are asked to leave the accommodation block BEFORE 4.30PM, this is so the site can be secured and in readiness for the welcome meeting and our evening meal.

On the last day parents are invited to a presentation afternoon which will begin at 2pm on Friday 16th August 2019, this will take place at the stable yard.

Please text Claire Maw if you are running late or not attending the presentation, so to assist in the management of the presentation and so not to delay others.

Parents are asked to collect luggage from the allocated trailer, in the stable parking area on arrival.

Following the presentation parents are asked to assist the members to clear the stable areas and collect their belongings from the tack rooms and feed sheds, before any passports and vaccination certificates are returned.

Please find attached a full equipment list for your information.

Receipt for deposit and notice of final payment where required

Please return the completed Medical forms for the member attending camp and the Consent form enclosed.

I should emphasise the importance of up to date vaccination certificates which must be 100% accurate in accordance of Jockey Club Rules. I would urge parents to forward me a photo copy of these documents asap. In order to allow time for them to be checked and any vaccinations re-started where appropriate.

Hope I have covered everything any queries give me a call or a text

See you all soon

Claire
