The Seavington Branch of The Pony Club is a friendly club with over 65 members ranging from 4 year old lead rein ‘Mini’ members right up to 25 year old experienced ‘Senior’ members. We are part of Area 15 of The Pony Club and we welcome new members from Dorset and Somerset. The Seavington Area is rather long and narrow, extending from Compton Dundon in the north down to West Bay in the south and in all about the width of Crewkerne. To give you an idea, our more regular events are held near Somerton, in North Perrott, Chiselborough and Broadwindsor.
Our members enjoy many varied activities from twice monthly rallies, a summer camp for all, Showjumping, Eventing, Dressage, social events, trips out and competitions.
We enter teams and individuals for competitions in Showjumping, Eventing, Dressage and are also starting to compete in mounted games and Tri/Tetrathlons. We also have members who have represented the branch at National Level.
We are not just a club full of girls – we have boys too and are always happy to have more!!
If you are interested in joining us (the more the merrier!) please contact our secretary, Jade Bailes who will be happy to assist you.
We had a very hot and sunny camp in August 2022. The lime green polo shirts divided opinion initially, but by the end of the week they were a hit. There great for spotting our Seavington members in the distance!
Here some of our members are discussing team tactics before they go Arena Eventing. We do try to encourage our members to compete and make up teams with their fellow Pony Clubbers – it adds to the fun and increases their chances of qualifying.
During the summer the mini members met at Chiselborough for a Pub ride. It was a lovely day and the children enjoyed a drink and a packet of crisps at the local pub.
Here some of our Seavington competitors, fence judging assistants and supporters come together for a photo during a break between classes. It’s wonderful how our members mix together and support one another across the different age groups.
