Show Jumping Winter League

All horses and ponies competing in this season’s Winter League must have genuinely participated at a minimum of three working rallies since 1st January 2020 with a member of the Pony Club.  From 1 October 2020, all horses and ponies should be microchipped.  Ensure vaccinations are up to date and that you remember to take your passport.

Alice Tyacke (alice@penybrynfarm.co.uk) has kindly agreed to take over co-ordinating SJ WL entries for this year.

The following competitions are still to run:

October 4th – East Cheshire – Somerford

November 15th – Berwyn & Dee/Tanatside – Southview
December 5th/6th – Burton Cheshire Forest/Cheshire Hunt North – TBC
January 17th – Cheshire Hunt South – Southview
February 14th – Sir WWW/Waen Y Llyn – TBC
March 13th/14th – FINAL – Cheshire Hunt North – Kelsall Hill

Please contact Alice if you are interested in entering any of the above. Entries should be made via our own Sir WWW web site, and Alice will put the teams together and send in the Branch entry before the closing date, so that our places are secure.

What a great day for the Wynnstay teams at Southview.

Heath, Eliza and Florence were unlucky not to qualify as a team in the Novice with all three jumping well. Florence jumped three clear rounds to finish second individually.

We had two teams in the Grassroot class

Hector, Jake, Scarlett and Barney

Immy, Victoria, Scarlett and Kate

In a class with 17 teams that took nearly 5 hours to complete…….

Both teams have qualified in 4th and 5th and are off to the Championships!

Fantastic results, great team spirit and as usual the Wynnstay supporters were the most vocal and enthusiastic.

Thank you to Emily and Ruth for walking the course with the two young teams and again to Emily for helping both teams in the warm up.

Great day for all involved.

SIR WWW ENTRIES FOR 2013/14 WINTER LEAGUE SHOW-JUMPING

Please can you let me know which competitions you would be interested in competing in by returning the form over leaf to Sara Henney, Bowling Bank Farm, Bowling Bank, Isycoed, Wrexham, LL13 9RR or alternatively by E mail: bowlingbankfarm@btinternet.com

We will hopefully be able to accommodate all those who are interested but this is not always possible due to restrictions on entries i.e. one team per branch for each class, therefore the combinations of Riders and Ponies who are deemed the most consistent and forward their entries in on time will take priority

(ENTRY FEES STRICTLY 10 DAYS PRIOR TO EACH COMPETITION).

When we don’t have a full team (2 or less) members can still take part but will be placed in mixed teams by the hosting branch.

Please try to show commitment by attending as many show jumping rallies as possible. Places are limited so ensure that you book in well in advance to avoid disappointment.

The course walk for the first class is usually 8.30a.m and that is the only time you will be allowed to walk the course so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time. Points are awarded each time the team is placed and are accumulated throughout the season with the highest scoring team being the winners at the end of the season, so the more competitions we have teams entered for the better chance there is of getting placed in the league.

If you have entered a competition, you are part of a team & must commit to participate. Obviously sometimes with ponies things go wrong, but if you have entered and then can no longer take part please let me know as soon as possible so that I can try and fill your space. If this isn’t possible your entry fee will not be refunded.

Please remember that if your team has done well but your day hasn’t been quite so good you must still take part in the presentation – you are still a member of the team!

Please also remember that you are representing our Branch so make sure you are polite, smart and correctly turned out!!

At some of the competitions a “Dengie Qualifier” class is held. This is an open individual class. The first round starts at 90cm. If you qualify you will go through to the Regional Second Round which is held at the last competition of the season (see our web site for rules and eligibility etc)

All of the competitions this season are taking place at the same four venues. I have given postcodes for them all and an average driving time from Wrexham.

Somerford Park CW12 4SW (approx 1 hour)

Bryn Derw  LL55 3PD (approx 1 hour 45 mins)

Southview CW7 4Dl (approx 30 mins)

Northop  CH7 6AA (approx 40 mins)

I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU ALL!!
