Eventing combines the three disciplines of Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country, each testing the pony and rider combination in a very different way.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Dressage requires precision, accuracy and submission; Show Jumping tests jumping technique and athleticism; Cross Country demands bravery, determination and fitness.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Eventing could be seen as the ultimate test of the partnership between pony and rider as they have to work together in these very different disciplines.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

PC Area 13 Eventing League<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

This very exciting opportunity enables our eventers, from 80cm upwards, to gain points at PC and selected unaffiliated and BE events. At the end of the season the most successful members at each level will be presented with eventers, from 80cm upwards, to gain points at PC and selected unaffiliated and BE events. At the end of the season the most successful members at each level will be presented with some fabulous prizes and rosettes. Eventing with the South Berkshire<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

We aim to enter teams at all levels throughout the Spring and Summer at local and Area events. You will normally have to progress through the levels, completing at least two clear rounds Cross Country at one height before moving up a level. This is for safety reasons as you will be jumping solid, fixed fences. Your entry form will usually have to be countersigned by the DC for this reason.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Regional (PC70 and PC80) and Area (PC90, PC100 and PC110) qualifiers for teams and individuals are held in June or July. Through these members can qualify for the Regional and National Championships in August. These competitions are tough with high standards and lots of pressure so we only select the strongest combinations for each level. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

For these competitions, we are unable to consider you unless you are successfully competing as a combination at the level at which you wish to represent the branch.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

The qualifiers and Championships mentioned above are subject to strict eligibility criteria so please do make sure that you read these very carefully in the Eventing Rule Book (found on the main Pony Club website) if you are hoping to represent the branch at Regional or Area level. Our teams and individuals will be selected strictly according to our Team Selection Policy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

The Area 13 Mini Championship (PC70) is usually held in September and again is for individuals and teams. You don’t have to qualify to compete there so just let our Eventing Discipline Head (see the Contact Us<\/a>) know if you are interested. They provide a wonderful opportunity for our younger members to represent the branch at an Area competition with their friends.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n
