Mounted Games is a team sport that combines a love of ponies and friends with various races. Teams of four or five riders and ponies take part in a series of exciting and exhilarating races that involve a mix of turns, handovers, skill, vaulting and galloping against other teams.<\/p>\n

Juniors are 10 years and under on 1st January<\/p>\n

Seniors are 14 years and under on 1st January<\/p>\n

Training<\/strong><\/p>\n

Training starts in the New Year and sessions are run on a weekday evening at Bradfield in the indoor arena and then progressing to the field towards the start of Spring.<\/p>\n

Training is open to everyone who can safely control their ponies in an open space at speed.<\/p>\n

Our instructor is Heather White, who has been involved in the South Berks Pony Club for over 30 years, either herself and now her children. Heather competed for the club in all disciplines including a successful Mounted Games team.<\/p>\n

Competitions<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are many opportunities for you to take part in Mounted Games. The Branch can compete at local friendly competitions which can be run on either grass or all-weather surfaces.<\/p>\n

For the more competitive Members there are qualifying Area competitions which start around April time.<\/p>\n

For the more advanced teams, there is also the opportunity to compete at Windsor or qualify for the Prince Phillip Cup held at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS).<\/p>\n
