Camp is a wonderful time each summer to have concentrated time with your pony having excellent coaching with experienced coaches and also having a lot of fun with new and established friends.
Mini-camp is for 5 to 10 year olds and is held over a summer weekend at Holwell Lawn. Most members take a tent and their ponies are turned out in the show jumping field, all the mares together and all the geldings together. Everyone does flatwork, show jumping, cross country,mounted games and dismounted sessions too leading to taking the D and E tests and badges.
Senior Camp is held at Pontispool, near Taunton, each summer holidays for those members aged 10 and over who are capable of jumping 70 cm plus. Members have three intensive days of instruction with their pony including flatwork, show jumping and cross country schooling over the excellent and varied course at Pontispool. There is a chance to ride on the gallops too. In addition everyone has dismounted horse care sessions, demonstrations, games and lots of delicious food!
The horses and ponies are stabled overnight, mucked out, fed and groomed by their riders and tack is cleaned after each day’s riding.
Tack all clean and ready!
Team duties include food preparation in the kitchen!
