What We Offer<\/h1>\n

South Pool Pony Club offer a range of activates, available for all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n

In order to be able to compete at Area 16 Competitions, members from all branches in Area 16 must have actively participated in Branch training, rallies or volunteering at Branch activities on at least 3 occasions during the previous 12 month period unless prevented from doing so by illness, absence from home or any other reason which in the opinion of the DC and Area Rep justifies absence.<\/p>\n

For the purpose of this Area Rule, a rally, coaching or training session or Branch activity or competition is one that has been organised by the branch committee, Area Rep or Training Committee.
\nIn addition to demonstrating loyalty to the branch, the combination of horse and rider will be required to prove their competence, safety and fitness of horse and pony in the discipline that they wish to compete in. This can either be realised in training or by current competition records.<\/p>\n

Dressage<\/h3>\n

What is Dressage:<\/h5>\n

Dressage is about showing the judge that you can get your pony to do what you want him to do, when you want him to do it.<\/p>\n

You and your pony have to follow a set of instructions laid out in the dressage test.<\/p>\n

A judge marks the test. They give you a mark out of ten for how well you carry out each instruction. At the end of the test the marks are added up and the winner is the horse and rider with the highest score.<\/p>\n

What South Pool Has to Offer:<\/h5>\n

We hold regular flatwork rallies with experienced dressage instructors who help you learn how to work with your pony to get him\/her to behave better and listen to you as a rider.\u00a0 We do training both on a surface in a school as well as on a grass arena in the drier months.\u00a0 We take part in regular competitions at branch and group level and have members working towards and competing at the following competitions:<\/p>\n
