I hope everyone is well and has had a lovely Christmas and wishing you all a very happy and healthy New Year.

I am so pleased to say that 2023 is seeing more new members join South Shropshire and I would like to offer all new members a warm welcome and know they will be very happy with our supportive and friendly group.

I would like to say a huge well done to Freya, Emily, Holly, Larissa, Clara and Erin for achieving their D+ efficiency test in November.

Our Christmas rally – although it was unfortunate that we had to go on foot due to the weather conditions – was a huge success, and all the members took part with gusto in our Christmas themed mounted games and a special visit from Santa and his reindeer was enjoyed by all.

Looking forward to upcoming events this year, we have many exciting rallies on our website for January to April including a session on the gallops for the older members and an Easter egg hunt and ride for our younger members.

I am excited to see our gymkhana rallies taking place in January and February and hopefully we can see some super teams come together.

Plans for our annual presentation are underway and more details will be released shortly. We are working on putting on a tack car boot sale hopefully in March at Berriewood.

Refund and cancellation policy
We understand that at times it is not possible to attend an event that you may have booked on to. A full refund will be given with seven days notice prior to the event, however if there is illness or a veterinary issue then a full refund will be given up to 24 hours prior to the event.

Our rallies/events are to be booked on via our website, a reminder is sent out the day before the event closes and we ask that entries are booked onto by the closing date, this is to ensure that the Committee has time to make any changes required to coaches or arena bookings and arrange ride times. If any members have any suggestions of a certain rally they would like to see put on, please do let me know. We are always looking for fundraising ideas so do come forward with any thoughts.

I would like to to take this opportunity to thank in particular our Committee members who work so hard for the club, Bonnie Willetts for looking after our Facebook page, along with everyone’s continued support and help, I am very proud to be part of such a supportive, and friendly Pony Club.
