We hold numerous activities including working rallies, discipline specific rallies and training, competition training, un-mounted Friday Night Club, test training, achievement badges and social events. See online bookings for our current events. Below is a little bit about each one:
Rallies
We hold rallies throughout the year, during the winter months at various indoor and outdoor venues and during the summer at our Pony Club field in Eversley. Rallies can be discipline specific, mounted and un-mounted and cater for all members.
Working Rallies throughout the summer months include a tack and turnout competition with points accumulating throughout the year towards trophies at the annual Prize Giving presentation.
Discipline Specific rallies and training
These rallies specialise in a specific discipline and we are often fortunate to have visiting instructors such as Richard Waygood MBE, Nick Gauntlett, Keith Doyle, Liz Properjohn, Jade Dawson and Mark Smith as well as our regular branch instructors; Emma, Gillian, Lucy H, Ellie F & Lorna.
Competition training
Our branch competes at many Pony Club competitions with both teams and individuals. Over the past couple of years we have competed at many of the Area Competitions with a number of members qualifying to compete at the Regional Championships and the National Pony Club Championships.
Friday Night Club (FNC)
FNC is held every other Friday evening from October till Easter from 6pm till 7.30pm. It is un-mounted and includes test training, fun and games, competitions, learning about your pony and achieving some of the many Mini Achievement Badges and Achievement Badges.
Test Training
Throughout the year we hold training towards the Pony Club efficiency tests. Generally E, D and D+ are held in the spring and autumn with C and C+ being held towards the summer. Training for B test and above is often arranged with other branches and the tests are arranged by the Area 13 Rep. More details about the efficiency tests can be found here.
Road Rider
The Road Rider Achievement Badge is held in the Autumn with the training being held at our Pony Club Hut and the test is held at RMA Sandhurst.
Hunting Badge
We are extremely fortunate to be affiliated to the Staff College & RMA Sandhurst Drag Hunt. At the beginning of most Hunting seasons we hold training for the Hunting Badge. This involves theory sessions, a supervised hack, a visit to the kennels and then a day out hunting.
Social and Fund Raising Events
We hold social events for the whole family….. and some just for the adults! All profits go back into the pot to pay for the maintenance and up keep of our field and hut and of course the never ending need for equipment. These include duck racing, BBQs, Barn dances, dinner dances, meals out and fun days.
As you can see we are a very active branch, there is always something going on!

1st Aiders – we are unable to run branch activities without a 1st aider being present. We organise 1st aid courses annually for our parents and helpers so please come forward and book a place when you see the information circulated. If you are already 1st aid trained please let us know.
Safeguarding is taken very seriously at Pony Club. Please take the time to read the Safeguarding advice on the main Pony Club website, especially the online safety guidelines for adults, volunteers and instructors as well as advice to help keep members safe using Social Media.
