For Sale: Pony Club All-Rounder/Competition/Second Pony.

Very sad sale of our much loved pony Pops (Pigbush Poppet). He has been with us for 4 and a half years and is a cracking competition and pony club pony. If it was possible to keep him we would – however we realise he is being wasted on us while my daughter is preoccupied with exams.

Pops is a 13.3, 16 year old New Forest gelding and ideal second pony. He excels at show jumping with his careful but scopey jump, ability to turn sharply and jump off the shortest approach – there’s never a doubt about going double clear. As well as this, he’ll produce an excellent dressage test and go clear cross country. Pops has taught my daughter how to compete and was taking her around full up 80/85cm courses always coming home in the ribbons. Always makes the pony club and NSEA teams.  Been to multiple pony camps over the years and happily stays away from home. He would easily come down to teach a new jockey the ropes and would jump 60/70cm with his eyes closed.

An angel to clip, box, shoe. Is never sick or sorry – not a bad bone in his body. He will happily hack alone or in company and has wonderful manners on the ground. He has the biggest character and is loved by everyone he meets. It is heart breaking having to sell him, but we know he’ll have so much fun with another rider. The right home is very important to us so please call and we can tell you more about him.

Pony known to Debbie Turnell and Kati Phillips – references available.

£3,900 including tack, many rugs, travel and jumping boots.

WANTED: 14hh – 14.2hh Genuine Pony Club Allrounder

We are looking for our daughters next pony. A caring, 5*, long term home awaits! Our next pony will have endless hours of attention and pampering. We are based on a farm in Wiltshire where we have all year round turnout, bringing in overnight through the winter months and 24/7 grazing in the summer if required. Barn stabling and an outdoor school. The special pony would have a lovely, varied life with regular trips out, competing, PC rallies, lessons or just fun hacks on the Ridgeway & woods. We have regular lessons with super flatwork and jumping instructors. Although we love all the fun of PC and competing, we also enjoy going on a nice hacks with our friends in the big open fields for downtime.

What we are looking for in a pony: …..

  • Temperament is everything!
  • The pony is for our small 12 year old daughter who is a nice rider but not ‘gung ho’ hence why we are looking for a genuine pony to take her through her teen years. Once a partnership is formed, we would like the pony to jump 70 – 90 with the ability of doing ODE safely
  • A good allrounder across the disciplines
  • Hack alone & in company (first or last). We ride in mainly large open fields so do not want anything that’s hots up or get too strong
  • Sensible in traffic & large machinery as we are on a farm
  • Good to load & travel (trailer)
  • Calm at shows / camp etc – NO calmers!
  • Preferably the pony will have a Pony Club background

Reasonable budget. Please contact Hattie on 07788837001 or  hattiecox@icloud.com
