General Rallies include instruction and rider development in all areas including jumping and flatwork. Our instructors are accompanied by a designated first aider.
We have expert training arranged with fully accredited Pony Club Instructors. Lessons are open to all members, unless specifically stated otherwise. For those members looking to be considered for Area Dressage, Jumping, Eventing or Mounted Games, you will need to have attended a minimum of three rallies, to be assessed for Team selection.
The Pony Club training structure encourages members to take tests which enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding.
Anyone wanting to take their D Test must first have passed the Road Rider Mini Achievement badge; those wishing to take their C Test, need to pass their Road Rider Achievement badge; those wishing to progress on and take their C+ Test, will have to first achieve the 3 stage Road Rider Test.
Members who are interested in competing in a team or as an individual, must have attended a minimum of 3 branch activities, which include; training, volunteering or rallies during the previous 12 month period and express their interest of participance to the DC. Submissions will be assessed for eligibility and suitability with selected members being invited to attend Area Training. The final selection of individuals and teams for Area Qualifiers will be made following training.
Please note that many of our rallies are hosted, with the kind permission of members families, on working farms. Please be aware that those who are pregnant of think they may be pregnant should avoid close contact with sheep and other farm animals during lambing; close contact may risk your own health and that of your unborn child, from infections that can occur in some ewes.
