Efficiency tests

We are always working towards the pony club tests.

The Pony Club Training structure encourages Members to take tests which enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding. The tests are taken at recommended ages and are designed with certain objectives in mind, to help Members become practical and knowledgeable riders, proficient in caring for horses and ponies. Each test that is passed is awarded with a certificate and different colour felt.

The efficiency tests begin at E standard and Progress up to the A standard. To see the requirements and syllabuses for specific tests please see the efficiency tests page on the main pony club website here.

The pony club efficiency test are well recognised around the world as a high level of achievement there are also exemptions with BHS exams for members who have passed the higher test levels (B test standard onward). Once you reached your C+ test level onward there are also the opportunities to do your UKCC coaching certificates which will enable you assist in instructing.

Pony club introduced pony prep to help members to work towards efficiency tests this is a fun way of learning and also provides you with short clips of various tasks that may be part of your test, even if you aren’t sitting a test this can be very useful as well as a bit of fun. They also recently introduced pony prep plus which covers tops from c+ and above which is also very informative and can be helpful even if you aren’t at this standard yet

In our branch

We hold training both mounted and dismounted specific to test training, to prepare members for both the mounted and dismounted side of the tests. Training is mandatory for anyone wanting to take the test as this will help members to become prepared and feel confident before sitting the test that they are eligible for.

For current members you can see what tests you are eligible for by logging in to the members page.

If you would like to be put forward for you next test then please contact contact  District commissioner, Kathryn Short (see contact page for contact details).

 Achievement badges.

Whist Working towards your efficiency tests there is also the opportunity to achieve various achievement badges. There are also mini achievement badges for the younger members to work towards and competition badges for the different disciplines. More information on the achievement badges can be found here.

If anyone is wanting to work towards a specific badge please let the committee know and we can arrange this to be covered in a rally.
