NATIONAL PONY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Weston Harriers’ members have had several successful entries in Area 15 competitions over recent years and are thrilled that some members wish to participate in these higher level competitions. Area 15 have requested this year that all clubs explain the following to anyone considering approaching their DC to enter Area competitions.
Eligibility for Area teams – Note from Area 15 [edited for clarification]:
Team selection in Area 15 competitions is at the discretion of the branch DC, who is responsible to sign off the health and safety of the combination [competing], however, members and their horse must have actively taken part in at least three rallies or training sessions in the [competition year] unless prevented from doing so by illness or [being away] from home. (D. Custance-Baker)
As a branch we would also ask you please read the rule-books for your discipline which can be found on this website to be sure about the eligibility requirements and rules covering tack etc. After you have been put forward as an entry by the branch, you are responsible for meeting all other rules on the competition day yourself.
Please remember Area Competitions are not the place to ‘have a go’ at a higher level than you usually compete at. Competing in teams/peer pressure can be daunting enough.
We are very happy to assist anyone who wishes to ask about Area competitions or check particular details – please get in contact.
For National Championship qualifiers, the first two teams and individuals placed earn direct qualification.
